Should Sunshine hard be considered an 8 instead of 7?

I was playing Sunshine and it has always dawned on me that the hard steps are definitely too hard to be a 7. There are several crossovers, tricky mines, and that stupid stream in the middle of the song. There was a point in the song when I nearly blew that round. I think that it is harder than some 8s and that it should be an 8. Wouldn't anyone else think so?

Maybe it should be an 8, but it doesn't matter. It could be rated a 27 and it wouldn't change anything but the number next to the Hard meter. The songs are rated what they are because that's what the game designers/chart makers felt they should be rated. It's really just a rough estimate of the difficulty of the song.

I think Freckles should be a 9 because it's so damn hard to AAA (I've had 2 on it for a few years now). Consequently, I think Stoic should be a 7 (sup AAA #12?) because it's so damn easy.

Different people find different things difficult and are going to have different views on how hard a song is, but the rating doesn't really mean anything. It's a pointless thing to question.

Sunshine hard is definately not a 9, not even close. 8 would be appropriate. if it were around 130-140 bpm, i could see a 7. It's not that the actual steps are real hard, but it's the speed of them.... you see these types of steps in 7's all the time, just not at 170+ bpm.

I understand the concern that Sunshine is a hard 7, yet it is definitely not on par with the other 8s. Sure, there are easy 8s. There are always going to be easy, moderate, and difficult songs for each respective rating.
