I am looking for a good softpad and a cheap and easy way to mod it so I can feel where the buttons are with my feet like a metal pad. If anyone knows of a way (EaSY!) please tell me. |

Impossible, or possible but very much not worth the time and effort. _________________

try putting a peice of wood underneither the pad, cut up another piece of wood and put it on the spaces where there arent buttons. (fill in the space)
then take a peice of sheet metal and cut out 4 sqaurs where the buttons are and nail that to the wood. then build a frame around it
EDIT: wow i just read my post and its the poopy explanation ever LOL! |

I'm modding my pad using this tutorial. I have the wood, the packaging tape, and the staple gun, but Home Depot said that they didn't have hardwood floor covering, and that they have never heard of it. Three different people who worked there said the exact same thing.

I've done the same thing to 5 softpads I own and I highly recommend it. Take your ****ing time taping the pad onto the wood. The hardwoord floor covering part is useless, i've used some of the pads 8+ months fine for up to 8 footers.
Doesn't give the arcade feel he wants though _________________

So there's absolutely no point of me using the covering? It'll still be pretty much the same? What exactly does the covering do to help performance while playing? |

I really dont know. Maybe its to prevent bunching (which doesn't happen) or to slide around easier. I've never had a problem. _________________
