3.9 of course, 4.0 sucks because of it being unstable and all.

Hmm... I suggest copying the default folder and renaming the copy "defaultex", then use that as your default.

Okay, here's my real problem. I HAVE a working 4th mix theme. The theme doesn't completely match up with the screen. On the song select the ENTIRE BACKGROUND is pitch black, and the roulette looks wrong. The makers of the theme CLAIM that the theme ONLY works with Stepmania 3.9 ALPHA 7-9. I'm wondering where I can get an Alpha 9 version of stepmania, because I believe that's the ONLY way for the theme to work. The other problem is, this is the ONLY!!!!!!!!!! 4th mix theme I can find. The link you gave me was to the same one. And on the site you sent the link from, under version, it says Alpha 7-9. Pretty much the theme works, just not with ANY version of stepmania I can find. I'm almost positive if I can find a 3.9 Alpha ver. of SM it will work. I know that was way too long of a post and I appologize in advance LOL. For the record, Zero, I did get your PM, but I know this theme won't work with your SM unless its this messed up ridiculously hard to find version. Any advice? or am I going in circles and wasting my time???

Like I said, send it to me, and I'll see what I can do. I might be able to work with it and get it working with the newer SM's (3.9 rc3/4). I actually have worked with noteskins quite a bit, and was kinda surprised that it didn't work. I'm also thinking of doing a theme, so this may be some expereince for it.

Anybody care to explain this? No, it's not that my graphic card is lacking, as I have a brand new computer, but instead of having an ITG arrow outline, the arrows for ITG end up scrolling into a default DDR outline that's animating really fast. How inconvenient.

XMaxX delivered the official ITG 2 simfiles to me. You may want to PM him about it. Otherwise, you can find a download for them from this link he posted in another thread recently.

I have a very bad problem... >-> None of the videos in my random videos folder are working. The exception being this older video that I used to play. The thing is, that I had recently gotten back into Stepmania so I decided to change up all my songs. They all worked perfectly before.
So now, I have new videos and only one video from before, which is the only one that works. I've done all that I could think of. I have reinstalled Stepmania twice, moved the videos to all other video folders, updated all of my programs and DirectX stuff, and so on. The videos open up normally in all of my media players. However, I did notice something that made teh old video diffrent from the newer ones.
When I organize the folder by type, the old video appears first, as a "Movie Clip" than comes the instructions followed by the newer videos which are said to be "Windows Media Audio/Video File".
When I do play, only the old song shows, playing normally and ending, frezzing the frame that last showed while I still played normally. I have Stepmania 3.9 btw.
If anyone could help, it would be deeply appreciated.  Thanks.

Yeah... try finding something that will change those .wmv's (Windows Media Video's) to .mpg's. That's why I asked. SM doesn't support all types of videos.

im not sure where id put this question but i play SM on my laptop and i got a USB keyboard b/c the arrows are too small on the laptop. Does anyone know if there is a way i can actually do hands? It was different on my old PC. No problems but the laptop wont let me do certain hand plant patterns.

The extreme flashing, I'm not sure on. But the DDR-style stationary arrows are derived from either A.) the .redir, or B.) the .sprite. You may also not have the Metal's stationary graphic. Check those out in the Metal's folder. |
I've downloaded the official ITG noteskins several times before, and I've never gotten stationary graphics in any of the folders with the exception of Cel, which I already have anyway. Is there a particular place where you can get the best ITG noteskins?
