Hmm... I love playing 8th notes all the time and nothing else (maybe they throw in a 16th in there every once in a while ) This makes my playing experience even more enjoyable
Yeah I enjoy playing pandemonium, then not playing itg for another 8 hours because my leg fell off my body
Xayro wrote: | horrible music (with the exception of Monolith, excellent steps, awesome song. And Agent Blantant... good song. Pretty good steps)

Horrible music is just your opinion. Seriously if you played ddr enough than you would be sick of all their songs that they keep repeating in all their mixes. You would want to play different songs and maybe even play new styles of music for a change(sup itg).
Excuse me, but DDR has been out for almost 8 years now. Just wait until 2012 when your still playing itg1 songs and tell me you still enjoy them

Umm... DDR supernova's flashy backgrounds and semi transparent arrows (sup note) don't seem to mind you (i guess )
Yeah, noone like metal dude (sup note)
Xayro wrote: | Just because something is stupidly hard, doesn't make it good. |
Lol, typical ddr fanboy response. Once again, if you'd play the game enough you'd realize that easy songs get REALLY boring after a while for experts. If you want the game to stay popular, you can't keep the same difficulty levels, you have to rise up to people's abilities
Unless you have AAA'd every ddr song in the world, i wouldn't be talking
EDIT: Lol i feel like ranting s'more
STFU

Umm.... no just no. 8th notes are all supernova consists of (hello curus and chikara just to name a few). It's not creative, and totally generic. SN's offsyncness is just one more reason it's not as good, contradiction eh? (since it's not "fixed" yet)
true, but the people who made itg were trying to see how many notes they could fit in a stepchart (Vertex^2 anyone)
Xayro wrote: | much much much better music (Xepher, DoLL, Innocence of Silence, Fascination MaXx, Healing-D-Vision, Love at First Sight, AA, My Only Shining Star, etc., etc.). | since when was healing D vision good? It doesn't even sound like healing vision whatsoever.
I agree with you on that one, but it still has a good stepchart that makes an okay song sound better
Xayro wrote: | The difficultly level is good for all players |
Xayro wrote: | as long as the players arn't into the ridiculously stupid hard songs, such as Pandemonium. |
Hmm... well i guess the difficulty level isn't good enough for everyone then if it doesn't accomidate experts .
Anyone can frantically (sp) move their feet to the beat of a 13 footer, but its more fun to do the same to sakura
Xayro wrote: | The increased timing window was an excellent move on Konami's part. That is how I want the difficulty raised.. We don't need a 382358 footer, more accuracy training = more fun. |
Simply your opinion. While I mainly focus on PA, I know people (like my brother) who play for stamina. In other words he focuses on "beating all of the songs in the game" not "AAAing/99%ing the majority of them"
so the truth comes out: you dont play the hardest itg songs if your working on pa'ing easier songs
Xayro wrote: | The nice new dancing background characters are hardly noticable | then tell me the point of adding them

Not women like my mom. I dont even use charecters cause they are ghey, but my mom spends all of her time selecting a charecter "to get in the groove"

I wonder now if my response tp Xayro will be misquoted and made to look like a case that DDR is better.
It makes you wonder what the literacy percentage in America is, doesn't it? _________________

I prefer Super Nova over ITG 2 definitely.
The reason is because...I just plain hate ITG 2's music. I don't know why but none of their music is catchy to me and doesnt make me want to get up and play again. I do love Dance Mania music so DDR is just more appealing for me. Also, Konami finally has listened to my emails of returning characters so yay...a definite plus for me.
This is just my opinion on why I like Super Nova better for myself so you DDR bashers dont have to quote me and be like blah blah blah "I hate you" |

Look kids, DDR Fanboys!!!
edit (sorry, threads like this piss me off):
I find it funny how most of the things people don't like about ITG are the same on DDR.
Per above: Random background videos?
Stupidly hard? I defind stupidly hard as almost every 10 footer on DDR needing to be above 300 BPM. (and for you flamers, I said "almost", so get off my case)
DDR is to repeatative. ITG tires me out stamina wise, while DDR just bores me.
Seriously, here's a challenge to all DDR fanboys (and girls): Play ITG/ITG2 for a week without any DDR. Actually try to get some good scores. Now, go back to DDR...BORING!!!
If you look at everything ITG offers, you'll see that ITG is by far the winner.
By the way, is there a link version of SuperNova? _________________
Call it DDR! Call it ITG! Either way, it still taste like chicken.
Konami created it (DDR), RoXoR perfected it (ITG), and we should all respect them equally. |

Wow, another DDR vs. ITG thread...And amazingly enough, it contains the exact same arguments for both sides that I have seen in *gasp* every other DDR vs. ITG thread!
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and defy the stereotypes...I like both games. I hardly ever get to play either DDR SN or ITG2 since it's a decent drive and they are both hellishy expensive once I get there.
I happen to like a lot of those 7 foot charts that many of you feel so keen on bashing. But guess what? I also happen to enjoy burning tons of stamina on some of the harder ITG charts.
Do I think some of the ITG charts are just ridiculous? Yes!
Do I think that some of the DDR charts are bland? Yes!
Do both DDR and ITG have songs that I love and others that I can't stand? Oh yeah!
To answer the question of the thread starter, I like DDR SuperNova more than ITG. I like DDR SN because I am more familiar with it than I am ITG2. I in no way feel that the game is superior to ITG2, nor do I feel that ITG2 is superior to DDR. They both have their good points and their bad points, and regardless of my or anyone else's opionions, I will continue to dump my money into both machines as long as I have feet to stomp arrows with! (or hands in the case of ITG).
Sorry for the long rant, but I get tired of the ceaseless attacks that go on between the warring factions of ITG and DDR. We are the dancing game community, and I don't care if you prefer DDR, ITG, PIU, Techno Motion, or Spider Stomp, we should all at least try to get along and respect each other's opinions without a flame war. _________________

Then ITG fans must be winning amazingly on thread arguments as a whole because all the arguments for DDR in this thread are horribly unintelligent and packed with fail. |

Just what exactly is gameplay content? Perhaps you're refering to the arrows that scroll up the screen. Maybe those little words that tell you how on beat you were when hitting the arrows. Well how about that little bar that tell you how much life remains. In any case, it appears that ITG is guilty of lack of gameplay cantent as well, and hands and rolls don't count because they're born of the same premise; HIT THOSE GODDAMN ARROWS!!!!! Anything short of scrolling farm animals is NOT new gameplay cantent |

I'm gonna say ITG2 I really enjoy the marathon modes in it. Really awesome way to use mods. I also enjoy the doubles charts. Sure some of them are wtf?! but thats what makes the game fun trying to see if you can complete it.
Now pump zero on the other hand great game but whats up with love is another danger zone 2 another nightmare? |

ITG2, by far. I don't like getting as many greats as perfects because of awful (and consistently changing) synching. _________________

Hands, mines, and even rolls all require different movement than what you would normally find in DDR. Therefore the mechanic is new. Of course, let's not even talk about Survival Mode, that thing totally different from anything found in PIU or DDR. Scrolling animals would not be a new mechanic unless they required a different set of motion. _________________

I dunno guys, I LOVE getting greats and goods while stepping on beat to 8th and quarter note streams of semi-transparent arrows. Maybe that's just me.
SuperNOVA wins.
P.S. My favorite songs are Modern Girl and I'll Make Love To You. |

You'd be entirely right about your prior statement (in that ITG has more content, and keeps shoveling more in with each release) if you didn't have "gameplay" in front of content, that's all I'm disputing here. In the way of IN game content, ITG is about the same as DDR. This is measured only by what's on screen. What a player has to do in accordance with them is entirely irrelevant. If one measures this way, it's very clear that ITG has only a pointy freeze, a poison arrow that looks like a mine, and a song progress bar. Other than that, they're exactly the same. Also, I think the level of gameplay content (according to my definition) will stay the same with the release if ITG3. In fact, Im so sure of it, that I'll bet you $20 that it will.
Oh, and for clearifacation, I'm not a DDR elitist, I LOVE In The Groove just as much, if not more. I just hate it when people think the fact that ITG's better is so clear, a blind man can see it. |

Right now i'm tied.
ITG2 has harder charts and a bigger challenge, which I always love in music games, and it has a few songs that I actually listen to besides in the arcade (Bloodrush ftw).
SuperNOVA is well, a new DDR. Sure it may be a port of Extreme AC with a few new songs, but isn't that basically what ITG2 is? SN has new songs and good, even better crossovers than EXAC had (No. 13 ftw). It also brought even more fun 10s along with it and good home version crossovers too. _________________
