Reverse or Standard

Which scroll do you prefer? I can only read standard scrolls, that's why I've never passed an extra stage. I can barely do 7's on on reverse.

Everyone prefers standard scroll, though some good readers aren't handicapped at all by reverse, though I severely doubt anyone is actually better at it.

Extra stage is not hard because it is reverse, but because it is a fast song on x1.5 with no recovery. Reverse is just icing on the cake.

I can pass songs on reverse but I can't PA at all on reverse which is why I prefer standard scroll.

I can do reverse very well except when the song goes faster than 8th notes. If there's galloping I ALWAYS screw up the up and down arrows.

The problem with this thread is that it is obviously gameplay and not chit-chat. If DDR shipped with 'reverse' as the default option then everyone would play 'reverse' and few would be able to do 'normal' well. A good player reads the columns anyway so it doesn't matter.

Well, actually, this one girl who used to live around here can only PA on reverse. She has got all of her AAA's on reverse. They are out there, just not as common.

Because it is forced on ES, anyone who is at all decent at DDR will eventually learn how to play very well on reverse.

I got the Extra Stage on my local Extreme machine. I got it and I'm like "im gonna fail with MAXX UNLIMITED" but it actually let me choose the song, so I chose "Lets Groove" on heavy. Whatdaya know, its reverse scrolling. I'm like Ok. This can't be hard. I got past the stream of 1/4 and 1/8 notes and then failed.
