40>30 lol. thats pretty impressive, how long have you been playing ddr? also, same question to other pump players.
what would you say the ratio of ddr:pump is in america/japan, then in other countries? clearly ddr has the upper hand in japan and america, but what about other countries? id imagine its popular in korea and mexico. worldwide, which is more popular, really? |

DDR is bigger in japan/US/Canada but Pump has DDR beat pretty much everywhere else. Or at least this is what I've been led to believe. |

I've been playing Pump for about a year now. And after playing DDR two or three times, I can pass LOM on Crazy , and most 11, 12 bars in ITG (we just got an ITG here) _________________

what am i doing wrong | Sorry about the double post, well, frankly, I think the lay-out is messin' with you, and DDR's rating system isn't AT ALL like Pump's, hell, some DDR 8's could equate to a few 6's, I can think of a few off the top of my head, B-virus for instance? Don't be discouraged. _________________

Like Jon said, the layout could be screwing with you (took me about 10 credits to get used to the pad, a LOT longer to adapt to most crossovers). Love is a Danger Zone 2 Normal, Solitary Crazy, What's Going On Crazy (good for learning simple crossovers), Up Up Crazy were pretty simple as I recall. I went from 10s and 11s on ITG to having to do 3s through 5s on Pump to learn it initally; you might have to gut it out and do something similar for a while. _________________

DDR does have the upper hand here in the US. Honestly though that gap is closing. Andamiro realizes the potential the US has and is doing quite a bit with us to try and make pump more popular. Our best player took 4th in the WORLD last year. Canada doesn't have much pump at all (explaining why they never registered for WPF this year). Mexico is definitely all-pump. Unfortunately 95% of their machines are hacked versions (this isn't to sound racist, it's the truth. And AM knows this)
If this helps any: Argentina, Brazil, Indonesia, Italy, Korea, Malaysia,
Mexico, Russia, Spain, Taiwan, U.S.A, Colombia, England, Philippine, China, Hong Kong, Ecuador, Bolivia, Peru, Chile <---this is the list of the countries that are represented at this year's WPF. Most of Central America and East Asia are here. So it's gaining, but still has a long way to go. _________________

Just starting playing pump a while ago but am able to do DDR 10's and ITG 12's (some of them anyway) and my first 4-5 games I was almost failing stuff on normal once I got used to the setup I Jumped from Normal 4-5's to Crazy 12's in about an hour or so (thanks to some help from Jon) After you get the layout down on PIU you'll have an awesome time with it.

i got PIU exceed PS2 a few months ago, and to be honest i always thought it was inferior to DDR. thats until i played it again for the first time in over a month. i realized how much more it resembles dancing, how much more fun the steps are, and how many good songs they crammed on there.
so i told a local LAN gaming center i go to they should get PIU(they said they want more music games, all they have right now is DDR). Should i tell them to get the PC mixes, or would the PS2 mix be a better choice? also, do you think andamiro/mastiff will ever make another PS2 mix in the US? _________________

The PC mixes are HORRIBLE. Go with the PS2 version of Exceed. And yes, they are going to have another PS2 version. Not for a while though. _________________

Quite a few bugs, but mostly the atrocious song selection. Like 30 songs total. Trust me, spend the same amount and buy the console version. In fact, since you won't need shipping you should save a bit. _________________

If you already own the PS2 or Xbox version of Exceed, buying a PC mix isn't worth it. You'd get maybe 2 or 3 older songs that are worth it. _________________

It would be cool if, in the next AC version of Pump, they decided to have accurate difficulty ratings. _________________
