Yeh, I'm guessing thats it too... I downloaded DWI and played that, and it works fine, so I'm sure it has something to do with the video and how much it requires or whatever... to put it in newb wording... So I'll just wait 'til my new computer comes in I guess
(I also tried using SM CVS 4.0, still 'hiccuped') |

I'm pretty much asking a question that I know the answer to, but I'm asking anyway.
Is there a simple way of getting edit stepcharts from my PS2 onto Stepmania? I have no memory card reader/flash drive/whatever in hell it takes that I probably need in order for this to happen.
I'm guessing that I'm going to be stuck just punching in the notes myself. Which I really don't mind, but if there's a quicker way that doesn't involve me purchasing equipment, I'd like to know it.
Or, if anyone would like to help me, I made videos of the stepcharts. Perhaps someone can assist me by making the proper .dwi or whatnot file for a song.

Unless it's an edit chart of a song, all the charts except maybe some of the Ultramix Song Packs and most of SuperNOVA have been completed. |
Was I not clear? I'm sorry.
I meant I made edit stepcharts using the edit mode on my PS2 DDR games. I would like to take those and make them into stepcharts using Stepmania, mostly because it would amuse me. |

Kinda figured it was edits you were after, and I don't think there's an easier way. The record option (Ctrl R) in SM is about as easy as you'll get, playing them both at the same time. _________________

That's what I figured. I've yet to have a whole lot of luck with the recording option, but I'll give it another go. |

Question about audio volume: Song vs Sound Effects
In Stepmania 3.9, can I lower the volume of the sound effects separately from the song sound?
Obviously I want to keep the song volume at 100%, but I'd like to lower sound effects--notably the announcer. MP3s recorded at a lower volume are not fun to play when the announcer is blaring over them. |

Hello everyone, I don't ever post, but i seriously need help. I have a 4th mix theme that says it only works with Stepmania 3.9 Alphas 7, 8, or 9. What is with the word Alpha??? I tried it on SM 3.9 and it was TOTALLY MESSED UP. I know the theme is legit because I have found it on several good sites and I NEVER see ANY different versions of the 4th mix theme. Anyone know where I can download SM 3.9 Alpha 9 or am I a gullible idiot saying something stupid right now??? LOL, help would be appreciated.

Alpha in the Greek language is "The Beginning", and also the first letter of the alphabet. When something has alpha attached, it means it's in its early development stages. I used to have a working 2nd to 9:RED collection, but now I seem to be missing 2-4. I'll e-mail you if I find another working 4th.
Edit: DDR 4th Mix (Tell me if the link doesn't work) _________________

Well, thats kinda my problem..... That theme doesn't work with stepmania 3.9... I haven't played 4th mix but TRUST ME THATS NOT IT. Like I said, I think one of the pages said it only works with SM 3.9 ALPHAS 7, 8, and 9... Which is why, on that link, it says alpha 1 (7-9). Could you try out the theme on stepmania 3.9??? That might show you what im talking about...

Its K//Eternal's theme modeled closely after BMIIDX9:RED. It can be found here |
Man, I thought you meant SuperNova... |

I got a problem with noteskins. In the options menu, I pick a noteskin (flat, solo, dark, etc.) and then it works fine. But after I change it, and try to choose default again, it doesn't go. To reset it to the default noteskin I have to press at the select music screen (which sets all mods to default) and then it changes. I can do that, but I really want to be able to change it in the options.
Notes: I use takuya's DDR Arrows. I deleted the SM default noteskin and renamed takuya's DDR Extreme noteskin 'default' Then there is flatex, soloex, noteex, and darkex noteskins (ex=DDR Extreme) which SM uses as Flat, Solo, Note and Dark, respectively. |
