It's cool that you got the records, but I can honestly tell you that those are the worst Machine Record #1 scores I've ever seen. You make my area look good where only 6 12's have ANY score......and they're all by me. _________________

Tonight was perhaps one of my best so far achievement-wise. I got the following scores:
- 83.21% on Go 60 Go Expert (I could've done better, but I screwed up on one of the long streams.)
- 88.86% on Hillbilly Hardcore Expert (That thing should be an 11. It's such a beast on stamina.)
- First 10 * (arcade, my first being on Tribal Style at home) - Hispanic Panic (about 96.28% I think)
But the score I'm most proud of that I got was...
...my very first Expert ** ever! Glad it wasn't on Birdie or No Princess.
EDIT: BTW, the next ** I'm gonna go for is This Is Rock And Roll. _________________

Holy crap Emptyeye, is that Holyoke? I haven't made a trip to any ITG2 machines in CT, but a machine like that probably doesn't have any passes on 11's or 12's |

There's a reason I called the series of pictures "A Commentary on the Sad State of In the Groove 2 in the State of Connecticut." I'm well aware of how not-very-good these scores are for Machine #1s. From what I can tell, the machine just doesn't get a lot of use at all, which is really rather sad. To my knowledge, it's now one of only 2 ITG2s in the state...and the other is in Mohegan Sun's "Kids Only" area.

To paraphrase an Australian poker player whose name I forget, "Holyoke isn't in CT, vesper." It's Smiles Entertainment Center (Formerly Milford Amusement Center) in Milford. It's near the southern end of the state. _________________

It's about time I passed this:
My footspeed isn't all that great, which is why I'm so bad at this song. I should be able to get this score into the 85-90 range with a little work. Now I have only one song left to pass no-bar on ITG PS2, and I don't think I need to say which one. This was my first attempt at it outside of practice mode (which sucks, BTW):
I actually expected to do a lot worse than that. So maybe I will be able to pass this in another month or so.
Note: I failed a little after halfway through the song (my legs were getting tired so I stopped), but the lifebar graph (or whatever it's called) makes it look like I made it most of the way. Is this a bug in ITG PS2, or am I mistaken about how the graph works? _________________

I'm in the same spot as you Bob. Pandemonium is so hard no bar, it just hurts.
I need to go ahead and get my home version average above 99 on 9 footers. I think I'll do that Tuesday. _________________

Man, do I envy your abilities, AA Bob. You've only played since May of 2005, yet that Euphoria score is right around where my high score is on it, despite your's being on first try. You'll be one of the best ITG players in existence within a few years at the rate you're progressing.
You apparently need to still pass VerTex, am I right? It should be easy - it's considered to be one of the easiest 12's in the game - except for that dreaded speed-up during the end. My advice is that you use hallaway and 1x (or 1.5x if you can read it fast enough) to be able to get through it; I tried to memorize it, but it didn't help at all. I hope you can read through huge minefields... _________________

If I'm not mistaken, the bar shows only segment of the song you played. That's why your graph looks almost full. If you go to a very easy song, select it, and don't hit any arrows, the graph will go much farther past the point you failed, but that's because it took much longer to get to the 30 miss combo because the song is so easy.
I take it you died in the huge runs, correct? _________________

Nope, I actually made it through the runs. However, I was pretty tired by the end of them, so I stopped shortly afterward.
Your explanation of the lifebar thing makes sense. I guess that until today, I never really paid attention to what it looks like when you fail.

It wasn't my first try. I've played it a few times in practice mode with the speed on .6x/.7x. And I've played it in normal mode 2 or 3 times before, but I failed.

Nope. Pandy is the only song I have left. I passed Vertex a while ago with about an 85. I need to get better at the ending - I've been meaning to try it on distant to make it easier to read.
I can't wait for ITG2 CS, since I'll finally be able to try Vertex^2 (hopefully I'll have passed Pandy by then), as well as all the ITG2 12s everyone's always talking about... _________________

I'm surprisd VerTex's ending gives you any trouble, seeing as you've sen the gimmick used in Max. before. The EXACT gimmick I might add.
Oh, and have fun with songs like Determinator. Guaranteed you'll fail that the first time. Guaranteed. 2 measure 24th stream at 147.........have fun.
Oh, and VerTex2 is just plain weird. It's fairly simple until the bass rush, and then you're screwed and you fail. At least that's what happens to me. _________________

Max. (period)'s ending gives me trouble too. I can pass it, but the ending is what's keeping me from AAing the song. _________________

Too bad DDR doesn't have options like perspective mods or mini to help you read their gimmicky-ass charts. _________________

LOL, as you can tell I really don't get out all that much
Today was another good day for me, I passed Destiny Expert, Pandemonium Hard, and ! Expert
I also made it to the final stream in Uber Rave then failed, made it pass the first stream in Quasar then failed, and made it to the very end of Tell then failed lol. I'm sure I'll get all of those in due time though, Uber rave might take me a long time though |

Crud, I was thinking of how your's was on first pass, most certainly not first try. Considering how hard it is to score on that thing, it's perhaps one of my best 12's, but I still need to work on reducing the number of misses I get upon the jumps and two 32nd drills in a row (you know, right before the sample starting point for example).
And double crud, since I was thinking of 12's you still needed to pass, as VerTex was the only one I didn't vividly remember you actually passing. Must've been a while ago. Pandy's a monster, but if you don't get through it by the release of ITG 2 CS (which you probably will, considering how experienced you are), there's always super-hardcore 12's as Determinator and Bloodrush (and Summer ~Speedy Mix~, which apparently and unfortunately is going to be a 12 in ITG 3 and most likely ITG 2 CS) to work on in the mean time. _________________

Yeah, it's really stupid that they're changing Summer to a 12. I've seen videos of those steps, and they definitely deserve to be a 13. If the ending wasn't there, I might agree with changing it. But when you've got huge 16th streams at 185 BPM, you're dealing with something harder than a 12. When I pass that song, I'm going to count it as a 13. Summer is as much of a 12 as PSMO is a 9.
Edit: And now that I think of it, I don't think I've ever seen anyone agree with the decision to change Summer's rating. It seems like everyone is against it. Roxor seems to listen to their fans, so I'll actually be slightly surprised at them if this rating change really happens. _________________

So I figured out the secret to doing reasonably well on Vertex: Hallway.

Ever have a day where it seemed like your ability to play dancing games just said "screw you!" and left?
I just had one of those days.
Got one new record, maybe I'll post it.

Nice score! I think I'm the only person in the world that plays all songs on Hallway, but I just can't seem to score well or react fast enough on Overhead |
