If you're talking about things like Mugen being a 10 on Expert or the "All Musics" thing, those are already correct on the current NA build. Mugen is down to an 8 on Expert like it's supposed to be, and All Music is "All Music." If you're talking about the spelling errors in the banners, those are likely here to stay. _________________

After reading the 7 pages:
I know now not to waste my money before I ace the home version totally.
I switch between the arcade and home versions very often and the pattern for me is:
Home: Nothing less than a B
Arcade: AA for my favorites, an A on anything at easy 9 foot or lower, B for what I can barely pass, and E's for songs that have A's on my memory card.
Anyway, happy to hear an arcade with problems will get fixed and I look foward to the home version because my arcade experience is only for my bragging rights which in this case is ZERO. I hand props to those who do have the skill and authority to complain about technicalities. _________________

Hate Nsync? Sync.
There's a thin line between the two I think. |

I just played SN yesterday and the new songs are synced perfectly in my arcade. Some of the older songs are synced horribly. I tried CSFILM and Holic and both were off sync. After that I just gave up trying to see what old songs were off sync and just stuck to the new ones.
One theory that I have about sync is that SN might be pushing the hardware to it's limit. Lots of people say that a song will start out on sync and then go offsync as the song goes on. This sometimes can indicate trying to do too much with too little hardware. _________________

I'm sure the PS2 has problems rendering the incredible model detail of two-dimensional sprites. _________________

Doubles heavy 1 footers fixed? |
Yikes, didn't know about that one. I don't play double, so I honestly have no idea. _________________

i clearly understand that they arent the same thing, but he is such a hardcore ITG fanboy that he will nitpick anything wrong with DDR and praise anything ITG. Sure, he will come back and say something along the lines of "If DDR was good, I would like it." and be proving my point. |

No, you're not getting it. Synaesthesia has a point. The game is running on a PS2. If the consumer version shows us anything it's that SuperNOVA's graphical engine works peachy-keen at the arcade or at home. The sync issue is likely due to hardware given the fact that the game is actually on the hard drive and probably will hiccup with all that shock and contribute to the part of the problem or something. |

i do get it... the point is that its NOT the ps2s fault. it was kahuna's THEORY that it was the ps2s fault:

not to point fingers, but your post would have been better suited if you quoted syn and his flames for ddr |

Another possible reason for all the bugs is that it was probably built from the ground-up. As in completely written from scratch.
DDR didn't become very user friendly and work very smoothly until about DDRMAX and even then things weren't perfect until Extreme. There's probably a lot of bugs.
This most likely WAS a rushed version. It probably was going to go through more testing and probably be released in Winter 2006 like the website says. However, they probably wanted to get the release out for Summer, which is what they have been advertising all over. So, they probably released it when they did, and intended on issuing a software update a little later, which is what they seem to be working on now. It's like we got a Release Candidate, or something.
This isn't a bad thing though. I personally would rather play on a glitchy version over the summer than wait 6 more months and not be excited about it at all.
And who knows... maybe it IS a hardware issue which caused Betson to halt the second production until September.

Thought: What do people have to say about the European DS version? Does it share the same problems? _________________

But if they built it from the ground up surely they would've added the capability to correctly time 1/12th and derivative notes. _________________

They still haven't fixed that? You'd think since the engine works in powers of 2 that they could at least make it so it syncs to the nearest 256th note or something rediculous so it doesn't affect your score as much. |
