Hello fellas i"m seconds away from clicking the order button for 2 afterburners but im hesitating because i would like some feedback from you guys and your thoughts on afterburners. I have read some horror stories about some of the arrows not responding correctly and you can't unscrew the graphic panel to fix them. I assume i should buy the 90 day guarente but I need to know just how long these pads will work. I do plan on playing 11's on these things thanks guys =)

I've got an afterburner btw. And they're nice, mine hasn't had any trouble, and neither of my friends who have em too have had any trouble with em. They're great like arcade simulation because of the recessed arrows(which are slightly more recessed than at arcades) so they give you great training for arcades and theaters etc. I'd recommend buying them. Oh, you dont have to buy the warranty, it comes with the pad. You just have to go to www.redoctane.com/warranty.html (I had to type .html for it to work) to enable your warranty once you get your pad

this is completely false. everything all unscrews. go for 'em, you won't be disappointed.

Perhaps read the "Afterburner" thread?

Anyway, i'd save up the extra $200+ for the CFs. If you're going to blow $400 on a DDR stage, why not just get the best? I've never played on an Afterburner but on page 54 (I think?) theres a person who writes a rave review about the afterburner and how its better than CF, and then plays on a CF and says "omg jk CFs are better"

I have both an Afterburner and a cobalt flux. I like the flux better because the Afterburner has really deep arrows. I haven't experienced any problems with either pad at all, but I can do much harder songs on my CF because it's easier to move on.

my view on afterburner: they feel cheap, but are solid pads. No they aren't worth $200. I actually like cobalt fluxes now that i've gotten 100% used to them and get a TON more AAs on those than an afterburner. The mymybox nexen pad looks great for the money, i would wait to see some reviews on that before you decide on an afterburner. I would reccomend a cobalt flux if you want it to last.

My old CF (that I sold because I didn't like it) wasn't as good as everyone says in my opinion. I can't say how good the afterburner is, but I've heard its more sensitive, but less durable then a CF.

ohh I'm surprised you guys like the CF's better But i really wanted to a pad that has the arrows lower like the arcade. I also wanted it because I love in the groove and alot of people told me at the arcade i go to that afterburners are so much better bescause cf's feel like stepping on pavement. All im worried about is how sensitive they are and how long they last.

Trust me, you want Fluxes. I had an afterburner, and it worked pretty good for about 5/6 months. Then it started having cracked arrows, and just felt worn down. I sold it too someone for $85...which was barely what it was worth, and I bought two CFs. I had a little trouble with one, but It turned out to just be the control box. The CFs are much more durable, and just as sensitive if you de-bow the arrows.

de-bow the arrows!? What dose that mean?

Most CFs ship with the screws too tight (Do I know why?) This causes the panels to be bent upward slightly and decreases sensativity. When you get your CF just make sure all of the lexan panels sit parallel with the base and if they don't lossen the screws a bit.

Here's my final point on it: CF and Afterburners are quite even on the sensitivity etc., the only major difference is the CF is more durable (not saying the afterburner isn't, just CFs can literally be run over by cars and take no damage, and I'm not about to put my afterburners under a car). But, if you want a pad that will train you for dancing at arcades, it's gotta be the afterburner, recessed arrows make all the difference. CFs are flat, which leaves you unprepared for arcade dancing (but damn nice if you just dance at home/with friends etc.)

Is there a way to raise the arrows on the afterburner? Because its not exactly arcade like. Plus the arrows recess too much, making the holes seem even deeper.
