Do you fold your soft pads (for storage) or does this destroy the pad?

I beleive that soft pads do wear out faster if you fold them. A classroom in my school had a softpad from the beginning of the year to the end. The same pad. They didn't fold it up once and it worked throughout the whole year (or maybe its just because they all sucked...).

I used to have a cheap $15 mat to start. (Don't we all?) I would just throw it in the corner and it would give me ghost steps. I souldn't advise it.

I folded my first softpad a lot and I blame that for it's demise. But I didn't fold the second one and it broke after just about the same ammount of time, so I don't know. But I don't recommend it.

I don't recommend folding up your soft pad. Folding up a soft pad and throwing it into a corner usually results with phantom steps and/or terrible sensors. I lay mine out flat against the wall or leave it on the floor.

Folding does cause ghosting if you do not fold it right, just make sure you don't fold on any of the arrow panels.

I've gone through 12 same softpads.

10 of 2 of them was due to folding it.

So Now my 11th and 12th works great for 3 years without folding them.

11th one is messup due to me broke the wires that plugs in the PS2 console.

Yes, softpad worn out . depends on how much you play each day.

I hate softpads when I can't do 7 footers on the damn thing.

folding does no harm if you do it right. Just fold along the area's between the buttons and your pad wont get damaged.

to XohshitztonysbackX: lol, owned. "folding" and "origami" are slightly different. Only one of them should be used on soft mats.

To fold my soft mat, I stand above it, grab it in the line between left and B(this is xbox), and right and A (obviously 1 hand on each side). Pull it tight, and let it fold over itself along the line between your fingers. Then tuck the top bit under, and lay it on the ground. Then grab it the same way between Right and nothing (bottom right) and Left and nothing (bottom left). Let it fold there, then tuck the bottom third in between the middle and the top. AND THEN... just pressure it karate chop style between the center and left and fold the arrow inwards, then between center and right, and fold that arrow inwards above left arrow.

hmm, i fold mine because my parents are extremely OCD about anything protruding into the "middle of the room" (aka more than a couple inches from the wall). i should think about saying "would you rather have it sitting there or have to buy me a new pad?"
