Lets hope so!
I (as well as many others) believe that Konami threw DDR:SN together real quick just so they would have something against RoXoR in the court case.
Think about it:
1. Quickly thrown together
2. Tons of errors/glitches
3. Konami announced a long time ago that there will be "No more DDR Arcade"
Now, I know, on Extreme cabs it stated "We're starting over!"
Now, instead of jumping to conclusion, lets look at this another way.
1. Starting over doesn't have to mean that they are going to be making a new DDR arcade game. "We're starting over!" sounds to me like they're changing alot of things. Now, do you see much of a difference between SN and Extreme? Sure the Interface and songs... But other than that, it's pretty much the same.
Now lets see, DDR extreme and Extreme 2 for the PS2 seem alot different than normal DDR mixes...Alot different.
I think the original intent of "We're starting over, means we're taking a new approach and you will see new Home versions cause that is where the money is *sniffs own fart*"
And, We're starting over could be poorly translated Japanese into English.
All I'm saying is that Konami doesn't care about the player. At least not anymore...
Now, don't get me wrong, I like DDR, but I do not respect Konami one bit. They have let me down and broken my heart to many times.
I think that Konami is done with DDR arcade and they are nothing but greedy, soul-less, inconsiderate assholes how can't take a little friendly competition.
DDR:SN2? Never gonna happen! _________________
Call it DDR! Call it ITG! Either way, it still taste like chicken.
Konami created it (DDR), RoXoR perfected it (ITG), and we should all respect them equally. |

Maybe the game was released too fast. So?
Maybe this willbe the last one. Good! Finishing a collection will be easier.
Maybe Konami is a hoard of greedy Japs and Americans. Let them prove it to us with thier next few years of action.
The death of DDR? Not! The rise to ITG? Not!
The continued life of Dance Simulation? Yes. _________________

And yet your signature says that you support good grammar. As well as not omitting vowels.

If you ask me, it probably will be the last mix.
That is, unless they actually PAY ATTENTION to what the fans want, then make a new mix based on that, they might stand a chance against ITG. We need more difficult songs. People were passing FAXX within a month of DDR's release. I want to see some 12 footers in DDR. That'd be cool. |

I kinda think that they'll make a better one. After all the trash talk about EX CS, Konami made EX2, which had a lot of the stuff most of us wanted. Then again, there wasn't much competition in the home version area. I don't think that ITG and PIU home versions will cripple the sales of DDR home versions very much. Konami should drop the lawsuit, though.
Or, Konami makes home versions, and RoXoR makes arcade versions, with a few home versions (that aren't horribly censored).
Either way, i do think DDR has a long life ahead of it. It may not be a good one, but it will have a life. _________________

I just hope Konami would listen to fan input once it turns 10 in 2008.
Going back to topic, I think Konami just realized that non-Japanese fans want arcade-faithful games, which they learned the hard way. _________________
BeForU was easily the heart and soul of DDR, until someone in Konami thought that it's a threat to the current structure (read: Konami's blatant overfunding of IIDX/pop'n). |

SuperNova was like a "Here's you're arcade mix, now go away" mix. I believe the loss of popularity of DDR in Japan is what's poisoning Konami not to work at their highest quality anymore. After Extreme JP, they had a "Greatest Hits" compilation (Party Collection), and afterwards, they just created games that had only the new original content from American mixes, a few new songs, and the highlights being the Ultramix crossovers. They didn't even include the Ultramix 2 songpack songs on DDR Str!ke, probably because they believed it wasn't worth it due to their dead fanbase. Basically, since people don't care about DDR in Japan anymore, Konami puts extremely little effort into making their home versions for Japan. SuperNova wasn't even a Japanese mix, but an American mix, since DDR has become significantly more popular in the States. It's no wonder there were hardly any brand new songs and just a bunch of IIDX/Pop'n/GFDM crossovers.
With that said, while I don't think Konami will really release another arcade mix, I do believe DDR will continue to exist on the XBOX with the Ultramixes/Universes. Since DDR is more popular in America, KOH has more of a motivation to create DDR games. All of the Ultramixes since 2 have had plenty of great crossovers from other Bemani games that eventually squeaked into PS2 mixes. While the real reason for this is because KOH wants their mixes to be "different" from the PS2 games, they still show their will to release lots of great new stuff, although I do wonder why they released very few songpacks for UM3. The XBOX mixes should keep DDR alive as long as there's enough other stuff to back it up (i.e., new licenses, brand new originals). _________________

DDR is dead. And if its not to some of you people, then its on its death bed.
It just dosent offer what alot of us want. New songs, harder songs, I heard some ppl saying mines(even thou thats kinda itg-ish). DDR started the whole dance game crazy and now it just needs to pass it on to pump it up and ITG.
All im seeing in the future is more decent\crappy home mixes, and I highly doubt another arcade mix.
Im not sad to see it go. _________________

Agreed exactly. DDR was truly special back in the days, but now we've pretty much outgrown it. We needed something truly challenging and fun for SuperNova, but Fascination MaxX is probably the worst Max song ever made, with horrible steps that many even find to be easier than PSMO. _________________

I dont think DDR is going to die soon. I think its getting more popular. Over the 7 years of playing DDR, it seems like people went from "What is DDR?" to "Oh I know that game, everybody does." I've also noticed more people are getting hooked too. I always hear about someone getting hooked on DDR almost everyday now. |

I meant Online. I go to this website www.gaiaonline.com and on the DDR forum there, almost everyday someone says they got hooked on DDR. You know..you didnt have to go and say I was lying. You are quite rude. |
