Yes. It makes me think it has something to do with my computer rather than the game. Even after reinstalling 3.9 rc4, the bug stayed.

Anyone know how to get oni courses to appear a certain color (Green, yellow, red)? I have alot of oni courses and it would be easier to find them if they were color coded how I want.

Unzip the files you have downloaded and put the folder into your song directory.

I was messing around with my game and I accidently made it so you have to pay! Now I can't get back into the options menu to change it. How do I fix this?

And also, I downloaded a song pack from DDRUK and ran it through my BitTorrent but now what do I do with it?

Press F3 during the attract screens to change Coin Mode back to Home mode. Also, you can go directly to the options menu at any time by pressing the scroll lock key.

Is it done downloading (not familiar with BitTorrent, but BitComet has a .bc! file extension if it is not done downloading)? Anyway, if it is done downloading, it should just be a folder with all of your complete simfiles in there. Just move it to the stepmania songs folder.

I figured out the coin thing and I have some songs now, but I need some help getting my RO3 to work. My computer knows it's there, but I think StepMania is thinking it's not mapped.

I can't get sound working in Linux 4.0 CVS 20060625.
I'm running Ubuntu Linux (Dapper Drake), and I got 4.0 so avi background movies would work (they do, by the way), but sound does not. I posted this on BemaniStyle and got no response. Help!

Sorry if this question has already been answered, but I did a search for it and couldn't find it.

I downloaded stepmania along with about 300 songs, and everything was working fine.
I then bought a RedOctane Afterburner pad to use with it, and everything still worked fine.
After about 3 months of use though, I would be playing a song (say for example, Max300) and about half-way through the song, it would skip about 10-15 arrows, as if it was lagging and had to catch up.

I tried using my pad with my xbox ddr game and it worked fine, so I'm guessing it has to be something with my computer... But I wasn't sure if it was a lack of hardware, or if it was something with the software (Stepmania) and maybe a patch came out to fix it or something... Any suggestions/tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Floyd

the USB and xbox ports on the AB control box have grounding issues. you have two easy solutions:
1. play in socks
2. buy the RO PS2 universal adapter, use that with the ps2 cord on the control box, the usb port on that works fine.

I've tried playing StepMania on my computer without the pad, but just using the keyboard, and it still skips 10-15 arrows through the middle of the song as if it is lagging to catch up.
Also, it works fine with the xbox. So I'm sure it has something to do with my computer, or the software of StepMania.

Thanks

...I think SM killed my computer
I got the 4.0 CVS and put in a few songs. It works for a little while, then I get a BSOD. I restart the computer and go play normal SM. When it finishes loading it gave a BSOD and I restarted it AGAIN. This time after restarting, the computer said that it had recovored from a serious error. So I'm like "OK, so that's why it wasn't working.". So I go to play SM (3.9). And of course, I get ANOTHER BSOD. So I restart again. And nothing comes up on the screen. That's right. Nothing. It acts as though it weren't connected to the computer. So I wait a few miniutes and restart again again. It does the same black screen thing. So I said "Oh frick". Now what do I do!? SM killed my computer and now I can't do ANYTHING about it!

Commence mourning and complain to the SM devs. I don't think ANYONE with SM knows how to fix this.

I have version 3.9, and this is a fresh copy (I just reformatted my hard drive, I was having the 'hiccup/lag' problem before, but I still have it even after reformatting)

$10 says it's your video card. (j/k on the bet) I have an intergrated one and it's decent, skips every now and then.
