It's too bad. The Spacekats songs are really good until the rap segments start. Then the songs turn to crap.

Dude, you don't put rap in a dance game, it's that simple. Rap isn't that good to arrow smash to... itg is doing good with the music so far. Trance all the way biggrin.gif

Well, whenever you piggyback off of a song like "I Shot the Sheriff", you're bound to get something fairly catchy.

They need more MC Frontalot. That should be all the rap that they have though.

I think not because nobody ever plays his songs. Of course, none of his songs have Expert stepcharts, repelling hardcore fans. He's a better choice than most other rappers because his songs' content is significantly cleaner than that of your tipical hip hop artist, but it really seems like nobody cares much about him and that he'll most likey vanish by ITG 4.

They chose songs pretty poorly. I could at least see an expert chart coming out of most of his other stuff (alot is available here), especially the remixes. Even Which MC was that couldve had a much more creative chart. Also, PA Theme was completely butchered for home version (censoring the word "fetishes" = WTF?).[/url]

I mean, it would be cool to find songs by artists like G-Unit, Z-Ro, 6 Mafia, 2Pac, and Li'l Jon & the Eastside Boys and screwed albums like Screwston in ITG.

NO! Just no, I will not...I refuse to dance to any type of "gangsta" rap. IF that's what you wan't go home and play stepmania....

Rap is slow 95% of the time. ho here likes to play at 90-110 BPM?

Who here picks sets of songs at that speed?

In other words, if more rap was in ITG, how many of the serious players would play it more than let's say a couple times just to get a score down on groovestats?

If they went for expert steps on them (they could get them with just about any rap song's lyrics, then I'd say some people would like them. They would just be relatively 16th and 24th laden charts.

Rap doesn't have to be slow. I think a good upbeat dance remix of a classic hip hop song a-la strictly business would be awesome.

PIU has some rap/hip-hop, and they have no trouble making charts that would be about 9s (you know, most of Expert in the first place). The only thing I would be leery about is if ITG were to sync stuff to lyrics. It works in PIU because the timing is so massive. If the vocalist was even slightly off you'd have a run of many orange-up-through-green colors, I imagine (to stay consistently synced). If it were just a "regular" run, it could very well be offsync.

Generally, I can see a couple of rap songs in ITG as long as they don't whore terms like n*gger, b*tch, sh*t, f*ck, dawg, hood, frontin', dissin', crack, H-Town, and ho's all the time. I've heard a few rap songs in the DDR Ultimixes with clean lyrics.

Mos Def. There's an example. He played Ford Prefect, for Pete's sake.

rap songs in dancing games should never happen. They dont mix....like oil and water. Im very happy with techno/trance, and the bit of rock provided(and some j-pop). You cant "dance" to most rap music anyway

When he said "dance" what he really meant was "arrow smash".
