750bpm is my max.

Usually try to cap around 720 though if it's a song I don't play much.

Robotix 5x
Summer 4x
Disconnected Hyper 4x

pretty much everything else is as close to 720 as possible.

This is why hallway > all

My comfort zone is between 500 and 650. I could probably read all the way up to 700-800. I play c725 on SM. I use the bar.

I use 5x on anything below 130 bpm, 4x on songs of about 130 bpm to 160 bpm, 3x on 160 to 200, and 2x on stuff as fast as Energizer and Pandemonium. Generally, my comfort zone is about 600 bpm.

I like to read around 450BPM, and I can't play any song on just 1x. I play on overhead as well, for some reason my FA is a lot better that way E7.gif

Typically depends on the song, I only like reading between 400-460 bpm, with Summer on 2.5x being the fastest I like reading.

For those of you who read at 600+ speeds and play on 4x and 5x a lot, is part of it memorizing the steps to the song? If not, that's some amazing reaction time. The only way I was able to combo the end of Vertex was to literally remember the steps.

Not really, you have to remember that some (not all) people that play fast speeds (like myself) play on hallway, or on a different perspective mod that allows further reading. I myself use just hallway. Then, it's a combination of getting used to the fast speeds, and already having practice from reading 900bpm on Pop'n Music :x

it's mostly just improving reaction time. i typically read stepmania at around 900-1200 bmp, it's all about practicing to up your reactionary skills.

omfg! how the hell can you play on a speed like that? laugh.gif i guess with hallway its makes it easier but still. for the majority of the songs on ITG/ITG2 i play on x2.5, with the exception of Pandemonium, Vertex, Vertex^2,<--(1x) and Energizer(for the most part). I have just never trained myself to read arrows at such high speeds.

I'll tend to use slightly lower speed mods then normal if a) I don't know how the song goes (so i do have more reaction time to weird bs) or b) if the song has very few notes or long spaces in between notes so i don't get caught with my pants down and get a stupid decent or miss. Once i know all the gimmicks of the song I'll mod it as high as i can get it.

I will generally try and multiply it so that the majority of the song is around 450 bpm.

Dang, a lot of that stuff is slow for hallway! I know my friend, she reads at one speed higher than I do because I play on overhead. She usually reads at around 750+ BPM.

She needs to 2.5x Pandemonium. =/
