USB-hacked XBOX/PS2 DDR pad and the PC - How to Get it Worki

Today I took a PS2/XBOX compatible foam pad, and had somebody cut off the Xbox controller port and solder a USB port to it. The problem is, how do I get it to work now that I am (hopefully)not using, or going to need my old Xbox-USB adapter? I tried installing XBCD AND my SuperJoyBox 11 drivers, but it wouldn't work. The device itself functions, but when you unplug, I get this crap from windows that the device malfunctioned and I need to replace it.

I really want to get this working for my temporary camp Stepmania setup.

I did this to see if making the Xbox port a USB one would help play a role in eliminating any button issues associated with using a real adapter like I used to use.

I do use a "hacked" Xbox Controlbox for the TX series with the XBCD drivers and I don't have any problems at all, so it might be your pad or windows, but probably not the driver.

when i made my Xbox controller to USB adapter, i killed one of my USB ports in the construction of it, i think the 5v and ground touched, and when i use that post it does that "USB device failed" or something, did u do anything like that?
