What do you mean tighten down the wiring? Why would that help?

On mine I have to lower the screws on one panel because a connection is always being made, but I don't think there is any problem with the actual wires.

Well, I didn't solder the wires to the screws. So because I was sortof in a rush, I didn't tighten the wires too well the first time. But then I went back and tightened them later. I think I need to lower the screws in a couple of my arrows too, because they sometimes trigger when I don't want them to, and it's really annoying...

Today I got a 93.99% on Hardcore of the North ex. on my pad!! I'm so proud of my self. I would of fc'ed it , but I got 1 stupid decent (not a pad error either). My pad's great on hard songs, but seams to screw up alot on easier ones. Like sometimes, the arrows are too sensitive causing me to hit mines and stuff. But it can't hold hand freezes for some reason. Especially the up arrow, which I made really sensitive. I just don't get it. It kinda pisses me off sometimes...

i think your pad looks excellent, and that's a shame about all the problems with the arrows man. Feel sorry for you. I wish i could help, but i don't know a lot about wiring and stuff. sry.

I've got a question, how did you mod the original design for the bars, and what supplies did you use? hehe, i've been lookin all over for a metal pad with the bars like yours, but they're mad expensive. and i don't want to mod a design with my own design, cause i'll probably mess it up to no end. riiight.gif

I just extended the plywood base, stacked extra plywood on that, and covered it with sheet metal. Then I just bolted it on. It's that simple

assuming you followed riptide's design completely......did you make sure the contact screws were completely flat and level? also, is the sheet metal contact on the bottom of the panel flat? just wondering, because i'm worried that the screws would bend from supporting all that weight when being used.

yeah, I made the screws as level as I could. I don't think that's the problem. The sheet metal contacts are probably just too close to the screws so I should probably lowere the screws, but that takes a VVEERRYY long time cause you have to level them out again, and then tighten all the wires again. But tommorrow I'm just gonna try putting some more of the rubber weather stripping things under the arrows to make it a little harder to push the arrow hard enough to make the sheet metal hit the screws ( that probably made no sense...)

This is why ddrhomepads contact design is better...there are no problems with misfiring or bad sensitivity in certain areas, it doesn't take so much time to adjust, and it's even quieter. All riptide's contact design is good for is making the possibility for lights. I'm not saying the entire pad design is worse, just the contact design; mine's kind of a hybrid.
