Actually, there's a website totally dedicated to this: http://getupmove.com/
Check the message boards for tons of stories/tips.
And I lost about 20 pounds with DDR and eating right. Eating right was a major part though. No couting carbs or staying away from foods (although I have been drinking alot less pop), my general rule was to use more calories than I took in and it worked for me. _________________

Caffeine-free soda won't do you any good. AFAIK, caffeine is just a diuretic (makes you go to the bathroom) and makes you hyper. I don't think it has any nutritional value at all. Taking the caffeine out has no effect on the crazy amount of sugar soda has in it. *Heads over to Google* According to these nutrition facts, caffeine-free soda has the same amount of sugar and calories as regular Pepsi. If you want a "healthier" soda, diet soda has fewer calories. Heck, most of them have none. But it also uses artificial sweeteners, all of which taste horrible IMHO. |

while playing DDR for the past 6 months, i've gotten a tad taller(which has nothing to do with DDR) and lost fat while staying the same weight, so i guess i've gained leg muscle. _________________

That has nothing to do with DDR. |

I KNOW... why do you think i put that in parentheses. im implying that my weight hasn't changed Because i've gotten taller(nothing to do with DDR), gained muscle(as a result of DDR), and lost fat(as a result of DDR) _________________

uhh i lost 10 pounds(due to DDR and working out once a week) and grew about 6 inches since i started(due to the adventures of puberty) over the past 2 years.
But ive gained 4 lbs in the past month because i havent been playing much DDR because all i have is a soft pad that i dont like using...so now i fear i might get fat....(im actually pretty skinny, 6' 1" and 146 pounds).
DDR does help you lose weight if you stick to it. I eat unhealthily (bring on the chili dogs, mountain dew, and fast breaks baby!!)..i bet if i started eating healthy and stopped watching anime constantely i would be a lot more in shape... _________________

I've cut out colas entirely, plus stopped eating fast food. I also play DDR 30-60 minutes a day now (endless mode is great for workouts).
I really started getting serious about all of the above a month ago (beginning of June), and I've already lost 10 pounds. |

Usually when people are trying to lose weight, they go for 1-2 hours. Usually as long as possible would make sense. _________________

Repeat threads are fun.
I've been playing for years and haven't lost a pound. |

That is all that matters when it comes to losing weight. Eat right, exercise, but most importantly, you have to believe that you can do it. You'll be fine. _________________

Holy crap man, I know how thin that is. I myself am 6'3'' and weigh about 200 give or take on the week.......and I'm not even fat for my height.
Of course I do work out in the gym which makes me weigh more (Yes, muscle DOES weigh more than fat.)
But still, I understand that 146 is pretty thin for 6'1''. Gj....i guess...or something.
Oh, and DDR hasn't made me lose any weight, of course since I do muscle-building exercise, it is almost impossible to determine how much it is helping me seeing that my weight is the same if not more now but my body fat has gone down. _________________

Well..
Last year, before I started playing DDR, I weighed 270 pounds.
I started playing DDR in March, 2005.. So before I played, I weighed that much.
It's not like I sat around and stuffed my face..
My thyroid has been underactive since the age of 3.
When I was little I had bladder problems, and the hospital put radioactive dye in me.
They never told my mom that it could effect my thyroid.
Since June 2005, I have been on pills for my thyroid (hormone replacement therapy), and have lost almost 80 pounds.
I currently weigh 195 pounds..
And all I do is play DDR every Friday without failure, sometimes other random days.
I don't pay attention to what I eat, but I drink a lot of water. It helps. |

are you saying it's not because of DDR, or somewhat? _________________
