What are these black freeze arrows in DWI? I see them in a few songs. They are black freeze arrows that if missed you automatically fail no matter how high your bar is (even if you have a 'hot' bar) ... I also noticed you cant even hit these .... i tried a dozen times, but you can not hit them .... so the songs that have these you cant beat! i dont get it ... what are these black freeze arrows in DWI!?

I don't mean to be a jerk, but just switch to SM. It does the job a lot better, and it does DWI files.

Those black freeze arrows are probably rolls, which I heard DWI doesn't support. Just like Randumb said, you should switch to stepmania, or better yet, stepmania online. Stepmania does support .dwi files.

What songs are they appearing in? Stuff from In the Groove 2, like July Euromix, Summer, and Robotix? Or other songs? If they're any of the ones I mentioned, they are rolls. Rolls require you to repeatedly hit the arrow(s) for the duration of the roll. DWI, which, to my knowledge, hasn't been updated in almost 3 years, has no support whatsoever for rolls. They simply didn't exist back then. Anyway, this odd behavior is probably DWI reading the roll and not having a clue what to do with it. I'd have to agree with the other posters in the thread and say you should switch to Stepmania.

i have stepmania, but it lags a lot on my laptop, and i dont have a regular computer to put stepmania on to ... DWI dosent seem to lag on the laptop either, thats why ive been using DWI ...

so most likely its rolls that make dwi do this then ... theirs only 2-3 songs that do this too ... i have to many songs, so im not sure what packs they are in either ...

then... is there a way to get stepmania not to lag in songs to much? they mess up your high combos ...

Turn down the resolution and run as little in the background as possible.
