You passed Determinator first try?

No offense to you, but that is kind of hard to believe, unless you read the stepchart or read about it. No one is ready for that 24th stream if they don't know it's coming.

Yeah, I must say that soapy bubble gave me a crap load of trouble the first and only time I played it. I failed it and then I passed bloodrush, summer, determinator, and go 60 go all on expert first try E19.gif

And you passed BLOODRUSH and SUMMER on the FIRST TRY??!!! E11.gif OMG, you must be a DANCING GOD!!! I don't see how that's even possible if you are not familiar with the tempo changes, stops, and crossovers. Then I guess that you have been doing too much spectating (watching other players whore these songs).

Yea that really is hard to believe. disgust.gif

The charts have to many changes and unexpected notes to be done without knowing about it first.

"Bloodrush" is rather linear, so no real surprise in passing that.
"Determinator" can be BSed, so no real surprise there either. Marquistadorous probably didn't score too well, though.
"Go 60 Go" is no surprise either, but his score probably wasn't too good there.
"Summer -Speedy Mix-" is not that confusing. I don't see what's so wrong here.
I could definitely see "Soapy Bubble" as being more confusing than any of those (except if you want to FA "Go 60 Go"), and thus as harder to pass, assuming you have the stamina.
If he had said that he passed "VerTex^2" first try, then I would be very skeptical.
ANYWAYS...

I made it to the twisty minefield first time I tried Vertex2.....of course The first half of the song is pretty easy......as in totally not 13 material

Now that second half..... disgust.gif

And I still stand (notice I didn't comment on Summer, Bloodrush and the like) that sightreading Determinator is rare. That's just a factual statistic. It HAS happened, but due to how uncommon it is, I would always be skeptical about that clain. Most people aren't even READY to BS the 24ths really. They're easier to BS when you know they're coming.......which is how I passd it with like a 64.XX% lol

What if the player had heard "Determinator" outside of ItG? I know I had, and thus the 24ths weren't all that surprising. I'd still call it a sight-read.

Anyways, how about that local, ambiguous, hardest ten?

Am I the only one who thinks Hillbilly Hardcore is pretty difficult? It has tons of runs (though not twisty like those from Know Your Enemy), and it even has 24th gallops like Sweet World to give FA'ers a problem. Over 600 steps, something rare for an ITG song, also makes it an extremely tiring 10.

I must say, Soapy Bubble is extremely overrated. Does it have lots of twisting? Yes. So does Know Your Enemy. Its streams never last too long and the long break sure gives a lot of relief to those getting tired during the first half of it.

Yes, "Hillbilly Hardcore" is pretty difficult. Not the hardest, but yes, it is fairly tough.
Since when has having over 600 steps in an ItG ten been rare?

Since ITG 2 came along and shortened the average song length to between DDR length and 2 minutes. Only 4 ITG 2 10's, Hillbilly Hardcore, Summer in Belize, Sweet World, and the terribly easy Tribal Style have at least 600 steps. Not even Know Your Enemy or Soapy Bubble have enough notes to break 600.

Oh, yes, the shortened song lengths, right. I need to go complain about that.

Okay, so you know that there's a huge 24th note run because of how Determinator sounds? I don't associate any 24ths with that part by just listening to the music -.-

If you're an addict or a good player, you might see it coming. It's possible.

Why does that deserve sarcasm (if you actually are being sarcastic)? Everyone should know shorter song length means less time to squeeze in a whole bunch of steps.

I'm not being sarcastic (well, maybe just an itty-bitty bit, but that's my natural tone). I actually do want to complain, though. In fact, I want even longer songs.

Agreed. Part of the reason HotN is almost 1000 steps is because it is pretty long. Sure, it's relentless, but it would be in the mid 800's if it were the length of some of the ITG2 songs.

Just look at Bloodrush. Notice it doesn't have 800 steps. Yeah, it is shorter than songs like Pandemonium....

Yeah, but "Bloodrush" has that giant hold, too.

It only has 898 steps as it is.

It has almost 1000 when you include the jumps.

Too bad he said "steps," and not "combo."
