|
|
Hello, I'd like to introduce DDReam Studio (DS) to everyone.
DS is a music synchronizer I made and tested successfully since 2004.
DS is made for music that is all but impossible to sync, such as pop,
classical, jazz, and rock. So, if you have been syncing music in vain,
this may be the thread for you!
DS is an interactive, "drag and drop" beat and sound editor combined
with a step editor. DS is user friendly, and masterable.
Note that DS works very differently compared to other sync-related
programs you may be used to, like Dancing Monkeys, XStep, etc.
Therefore, if you use it, it may feel, well, "different" at first. Don't worry.
This thread is for anyone who is willing to try/test/ask questions/give
feedback/post tips on DS.
I'll also post tips and tricks depending on user interest. I could write a
book on how to master DS, but that will be boring.
Also, if there is a coder out there willing to take over the project, you can
PM me or something. For personal reasons, I can't continue development
of this program.
Note: The link to the executable and Help File (facebook slideshow with
Overview and beginner's guide) should be in my signature.
DirectX 9.0 is REQUIRED.
Good Luck!

Pretty nice program overall. I managed to sync a recording of our school Jazz Band playing a Latin piece using it. The only thing is that I wish you could also determine the bpm based on each measure instead of each beat. My finger can get awfully unreliable trying to repetitively hit the key without making a single error for over a minute (or, in my case, 3 minutes - ugh.). _________________

This solution might help:
Just place a beat on each measure, then "Select All", then go to Sync->Autofill beats, choose "Advanced" and enter "3" beats between each consecutive beat!
That's assuming you have a "4/4" song.
You can also place beats every 2 measures and enter "7" instead of 3 (assuming again 4/4).
The auto-filled beats are also tweakable. The auto-filled beats are linearly interpolated between key beats; usually, (95% if the time syncing classical/jazz) the sync is good enough, and you wont need to tweak the auto-filled beats. _________________
