1) u can't disable corner buttons in ddr extreame (shows how much konami really cares about the American versions
2)they got rid of solo type for ex2 how the heck do they expect us to read the 16th notes now!?
3)Konami dosen't give a poopy about there (DDR) fanbase and what they have to say about future versions.
4) 95% of there songs are too easy and boring besides some of the 10s
5)konami is like microsoft dominating the dance music games and sueing everyone who actually makes a better game then them
6)same old boring mods and lack of speed mods...
7) flashing arrows that blend in with background
8)retarded dance charicters make the game so childish and distract you
9)No hands
10) crapy licencing on there songs (which most of them do suck)
11) too populair, everyone thinks all dance games are called DDR
obviously DDR was my frist dance game but i have only been playing dance games for about 5 months now. I quit DDR into my second month. these are just a few reasons why i gave up on DDR im sure there are many more i can add to the list but please share your reasons why you quit and your opinions about DDR now |

1. Then don't use Extreme.
2. Get better vision.
3. And PIU does?
4. Somebody could use the same argument saying that ITG and PIU are too tough.
5. They didn't sue because of the game, they sued because Roxor was using their old cabinets on crapocabs. Sure, this could have been due to jealousy, but my guess is that Konami just wanted money.
6. And how often do you use those interesting mods?
7. Get better vision or disable the backgrounds.
8. You can turn them off...you complaining about an optional feature is EXTREMELY stupid. It's like you complain about Starbucks because you have the choice to get whipped cream on your frappucino.
9. Some people hate ITG and PIU because of their hands.
10. ITG has its fair share of crap. Dreams Of Passion, Don't Promise Me, Little Kitty Mine...
11. So? What the fuck do you care if idiots call ITG DDR? Does it really affect your life in any way?
You don't have a single valid point here. Sure, I like ITG more than DDR but you just didn't express yourself the right way. Try again. _________________

um... Pump has specific songs that the arrows are supposed to blend into the background to throw you off. I "retired" from the DDR scene and I sometimes play the other games. It just lost its fun, you dont see me flaming Konami or DDR. _________________

I'm sorry you find DDR boring due to absence of gimmicky difficulties and mods. Here's a step-by-step to make it seem more fun...
1. Find the nearest firearm or device capable of firing a projecttile at at least mach 1.2
2. Locate ammunition for said firearm
3. Attempt to put said ammunition in your firearm (You may find this difficult due to lack of speed mods)
4. When properly loaded pull back hammer, bolt, etc. to initiate a state of "ready to fire" (This may be challenging with all those corner buttons in your way)
5. Open mouth and insert firearm (it's critical that you are able to insert the end where the projectile is more likely to exit, although you might be distracted by someone dancing in a background somewhere)
6. Pull the trigger while gun is in mouth, this is a requisite (User reports have indicated that Smith & Wesson ingnores their fanbase and thus, might hender the weapon from doing it's job)
7. If lack of Solo did not intervien in your putting the ammo in right, proceed to 9.
8. Reattempt to put ammunition in weapon, but first, remove the offending bullet/cartdrige
9. Congratulations, you've improved your DDR experience!!! |

I hate konami for it's monopoly-like lawsuite over Roxor...but!
Give credit where credit is due.
Konami created this idea for the dance games we know and love today. Sure they're still a little childish and maybe they don't do everything perfect, but hey! That adds to more of the challenge. So by saying "backgrounds that blend with the arrows" (or whatever) you are really saying "That's to hard to read! I'm gonna give up and do something that fits me better rather than facing a challenge and overcomming and obsticle."
ITG haters piss me off!
DDR haters who like ITG piss me off even more!
Deal with it! Theres two!!! ITG and DDR! Get over it!!!!

Konami created it (DDR), RoXoR perfected it (ITG), and we should all respect them equally. |

Konami created this idea...

I personally believe that this is debatable. Maybe the usage of arrows was Konami's, but there was a rhythm music game before DDR. Nintendo PowerPad Dance Aerobics anybody? _________________

I am laughing so hard right now...sigged.
Travelsonic: IIRC, PIU came out before DDR did, so it would really be Andamiro pioneering the dancing game community. _________________

I stopped reading the list as soon as I saw the first word of the actual post.

1) Learn to deal with the corner buttons and accept a pad miss occasionally.
2) If the arrows are different colors, then they must be something other than a quarter note.
3) ??? No comment.
4) Not all songs are easy for everybody. And some people actually like the sound of dance tracks, trance tunes, eurobeat, etc.
5) Well, Roxor is the only company I've heard about that Konami has taken to court.
6) Lack of speed mods? What, did you forget about 1.5x, 2x, all those others? And Sudden/Hidden sure isn't boring.
7) I like the flashing arrows. Then again, I like anything that's shiny or flashes.
8) Some people think that THE DANCE CHARACTERS ARE COOL. I think it makes the game feel... I dunno, balanced.
9) Some people (like me) have trouble with hands and either fall off the pad or bruise their knuckles because it feels awkward doing them.
10) See #4. I LIKE THE DDR SONGS.
11) That's because some people don't care about dance games. Let them be that way, and if they want to find more then they'll play.
Even though I'm not the best at DDR, I still love its charm and all of the extra things that it has (speed mods, regular mods, etc., and dance charas). I 'specially love the songs. And I do ITG- I didn't quit DDR. I just decided to try a somewhat more difficult dance game for a bit of a challenge.

For the first 1.5 years of me playing i never would have thought i would play anything other then DDR ever. Around that mark though i was starting to get bored with ddr(so bored that i was trying to AA all the 10's on shuffle no bar................) anyway around that time I started to hear info about ITG and thought to myself... ehh it can't be better. Did some research, took a 2ish hour drive to try it out for an afternoon... seriously if it JUST had harder charts and nothing else going for it it would have been an easy sale for me. I also appreciated the different style of music. DDR is still great in small amounts but i don't feel there is anything else i can accomplish on DDR anymore without whoring the hell out of each song to knock off the 1-15 greats i have on 200+ songs. |

Ok, I actually agree with the complaint about the corner buttons. I mean, if you are going on a PA spree, why should you roll over and die if you get a miss and blow it off as an occasional thing, when it really shouldn't be happening at all? _________________
