|
|
Hi guys, I was just wondering if it would be possible to use a Solo Arcade Pad (just the pad) on a PS2 or Xbox and if anyone knew how to wire it, because you can procure one from channelbeat here for less than $200. This seems like a very good alternative to the current hardpads on the market and would be extremely durable and well put together as it is and arcade pad. If anyone has done this or knows a way in which to accomplish this please reply. Sorry in advance if this is a topic that has already been delved into. |

I don't think you really could because of the way the sensors work. When you hit the arrow once, it registers twice i think, which the arcade machines are built to deal with, but the home games arent. I'm not sure of this info, but i think thats what it said in a tutorial on how to build a SM cabinet _________________

Hmm, I've wondered about this too. There was this place by me that used to have an old DDR machine and one day it disappeared, but the pads were still there. If what Cat said is true, would there be a way to change the sensors somehow so they would work? _________________

Now I could then use it for my PC or use it on my modded Xbox if there was a port of this 3rd party stepmania version for the Xbox. If one followed the above tutorial, without going all fancy, it would still be cheaper than purchasing a machine, but still reach far beyond the quality of most hardpads in the same price range. The problem then becomes wiring, which from what I understand is not very simple and includes many different plugs that are meant to be plugged solely into a DDR Arcade motherboard. |

Uh, wiring wouldn't be very much of a problem at all as long as you had a control box that works and knowledge of soldering. _________________
