I have absolutely no time to look through 34 pages... so can someone either tell me, or direct me to the page that tells me how to get an appropriate bone set for the character: Babylon. (from 5th MIX)

With normal bones he becomes gigantic...

Hmm... I believe a set of bones WERE made just for him, just lemme ask my good friend hellcat_444 from the DDRManiax Forums.

Edit: (Kept for future reference) Straight from my convo with hellcat_444, you need MilkShape to do this:

Recently I reformatted my computer, and as aresult I had to re-install Stepmania. The problem is, whenever I start it up now (v3.9) I get this error: "Assertion 'asDiff.size() > 0' failed"

I have Windows XP Home edition.

1.) Versions 3.9 rc4 and 3.9 Final were supposed to fix most problems.
2.) If you have rc4/Final, re-install it. I don't use an XP, so I can't be much help to you.

I have a problem mainly with the sm 4.0 build

In marathon courses

How do you get noteskins to change during the nonstop courses? Like in ealier builds it was just putting it as the mod so if I wanted it to change to solo I would just put TIME=24.5:END=43:MODS=solo:

Now when I do that on the 4.0 build it stays as the arrows I selected before I started the course in this case default. So how is it done on the 4.0 build?

This is werid...
Songs that have Japanese or special characters in the name are now displayed in English, or using normal characters instead of the special ones. I checked the song file thingies, and the character files are still there. Why doesn't it display the names with Japanese/special characters anymore?

try going to Options > Appearance Options > Translations and switching it from Romanization to Native Language

4.0 is still a beta release. Report it in the bugs thread here.

Edit: Maybe they don't have, but I was pretty sure they did so we could help the developers flatten the bugs.

Hey guys. Problem here.

I have a "challenged friend" who happened to download Stepmania 4.0. I already had 3.9 fine and dandy, until he downloaded it. I have no idea what the freak he did, but right now, I'm really ticked off. I got 4.0 running with the song demos/banners working, but when I try to play the song, it crashes with a report that says:

Crash reason: Assertion 'bSuccess' failed


I moved the songs folder from 3.9 to 4.0 to have it work, but only the demo song, banner, graph, and other stuff worked. It crashes before I even get to play.

Like I said, 4.0 is only a beta release. Works for some; not for others. My friend has it and it worls perfectly except when snapshotting.

Bottomline: Let me know once 4.0 has an official release, so I can help you with it. Still a beta, and rc4 works fine for me, so I'm waiting on the download. No 2 computers are the same unless nothing has beed done since a clone. so therfore you may/may not have problems.

SO STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT STEPMANIA 4.0!!!

I have a problem.

On StepMania (3.9) I created this song, added some steps, and then I created a background, saved in .png fromat, and it won't show up. (The background, that is.) frust.gif It had BG in its name, and there are no opinons that would disable the background. What's the problem?

Option A: Go to Options, then Reload Songs/Courses. OR Edit/Sync songs, find your song, hit Esc, then choose Reload from disk.
If that doesn't work...
Option B: Remove the song folder to your desktop, load SM, close out, put back in SM, reload.

Make sure the .SM includes the correct name for your BG.

When I play Dynamite Rave with graphic videos, it crashes.

[string "in"]:3: attempt to call method `loop' (a nil value)

When I play MoonLight Shadow with graphic video, the graphic doesn't go with the beat. (Meaning, it doesnt show up on time).

I just now finished making an edit data for a simfile on stepmania 3.9, and when I went to play it normally on game mode, everything was fine until the end of the song. After the song ended it never goes to the grade evaluation screen, it just stays in play without arrows or music like its waiting for something. I thought maybe I accidently put an arrow somewhere many minutes ahead in edit mode, but there was no arrow. I need help.

judging by that screenshot, your problem is that you've got a severly outdated itg2 theme.

Oh no, it happens with the Groove 2.2 StepMania theme as well. And besides, the older one used to be absolutely fine and without that horrid glitch.
