my local mcdonalds has these cute little DDR setups, and i decided to check it out when my pad broke. So i go there and get in the fun zone and find 2 grimey and weird small metal dance pads. I get on and realize im completely stuck in the information mode on DDR MAX 2 US. Normal, i could hit start and select or O or Square but the smart people at mcdonalds decided to have a start button and a reset button that does nothing. Also, i notice X and O are labeled A and B. Later, i come back and SUPRISE! its on song select. Problem is, the left arrow doesnt work! O darn! Looks like mcdonalds and DDR should never had meant to be.

Anyways i made this forum for people to 1. share any DDR at mcdonalds experiences and 2. have played on a pad/setup at mcdonalds that works. I thought maybe if they took the 2 minues to read the manual of the game to know start+select=reset that they could have made a decent setup if the pads worked right. O and if anyone works at a mcdonalds with DDR, have you ever asked any of your bosses about this terrible DDR setup?

First, when the hell did McDonald's get DDR'd?! I've never been to any McDonalds anywhere near a DDR machine and I go to alot of Mcdonald's since I go to different places alot.

But really, who would expect a high quality machine at a fast-food restaurant? laugh.gif

It's funny to wow little kids by doing Heavy or Standard. laugh.gif

I've been to a McDonald's that has DDR. Was a year or two ago, though, before I was really any good... far as I remember, it worked. It was an arcade version.

Having a DDR at McDonald's is an okay idea, so long as little kids don't kill the pad by stomping on it on Beginner... blink.gif

Yeah. It is. The only DDR in my town is at a theatre, so sometimes when I go there younger kids are doing it. One time this 12 or so year old kid did Love <3 Shine on Beginner pretty much every stage, and really hit the mat hard. He very rarely got above a Good. laugh.gif

I could just imagine how much a machine would be tortured at McDonald's. xP That would suck.

I got bored one day and randomly looked around in the machine locations...I was rather suprised to see that McDonalds places had machines. I doubt any of them were good though...I can imagine. All of them covored in grease and squished fries and old ketsup. With the occasional barf covored screen and poop covored pads.

wow..i figured if michigan had mcdonalds DDR almost everyone would have mcdonalds DDR!! and i thing to note none of the machines are arcade mixes. There home mixes rigged up to no name metal pads. Also, the speakers are complete crap and they have the volume so low you cant even hear it.

The pads just arent meant for little fatass kids to go stomping the hell out of them, if they really cared they would get a CF commercial pack or something.

Wait, why would you play at a Chuck E Cheezes anyway? The nice price thingy is nice, but how could you ignore all the little kids that need to burn a lot?

EDIT: Can anyone post pics of a McDonalds DDR setup?

chuck e cheese setups aren't that bad. one near me has an Exceed 2 i've played on, good price ($.25 for three songs), and the pads are in fairly good condition.

That doesn't sound so bad, but wouldn't aren't Mold E Cheese's built for little kids? You'd probably get thrown out for accidently stepping on little kids who are stupid enough to go and put thier hands on the panels.

I'm 12, and I don't do stupid stuff like that. Neiter would any of my 12 year old friends.
I think your thinking of 6-9 year olds. Next time one of them does that to me I'll trip them and say it was an "accident".
