Are there any plans to allow us to use the home controllers on IIDX (like Namco's doing with Tekken 5 and PS2 controller)?

doubtful, and why would they? the controller isn't much different from arcade, unless you're talking about using a dual shock, but why would you ever want to do that?

No.

First off - the home IIDX controller is pretty much exactly the same as the arcade only a tiny bit smaller and less clicky (the arcade control system is tons better) and playing with the Dualshock is just....no.

That'd be like being able to hook a soft mat or Dualshock up to DDR. It's pointless and isn't worth the effort.

I don't think anybody's really figured it out, at least not very well. Just play a lot across all modes is all I can really say.

I just got Red in the mail like 4 hours ago, and I gotta say, I really like the customization mode. It's just sweet like that.

Play everything as much as possible.

That's about it.

Not sure, but I unlocked quite a few things playing the dan courses. I haven't played through all of them yet, (I think I only need 5dan and the easier kyuu ones) but I've unlocked quite a bit of stuff through there. I haven't played any expert courses yet though.

Moving on, who's the main contributor of songs in IIDX

(DDR : Naoki :: IIDX : who)?

From the first versions of IIDX (1st-10th style) - dj TAKA

Possibly from IIDX RED onwards - Tatsh

Q: Is Kakumei a IIDX original, given that dj TAKA was the main artist? sweat.gif

IIDX 7th and DDR 7th came out fairly close to each other, but I'm pretty sure Kakumei is considered a IIDX song.

I say no for 3 reasons. First - Kakumei was on the DDRMAX2 soundtrack (which we all know that unless a IIDX song is edited for length, it tends not to appear on the soundtrack), secondly - it was the OMES for MAX2...which leads me to believe it was composed specifically for DDR and lastly - it's not located in the beatmania IIDX folder on DDR Extreme.

Eh. Kakumei (and D2R, though people never seem to mention that) is kind of a grey area. I can't find the exact release dates for either IIDX 7th or DDR 7th, and that doesn't help. :X

Kakumei was on both OSTs and was the OST for both games. I've always attributed Kakumei being in the DDR Max2 folder to the fact that since it was the OMES, it would be confusing to put it elsewhere.

I was looking through Slayer's website to try to figure out what they classify it as, but they actually list both DDR 7th and IIDX 7th as its game of origin. :X

Though to be honest I'll probalby always think of it as a IIDX song since it sounds so much more like something you'd expect out of IIDX than from DDR.

It could really be for just both. Konami could have come up with the idea "Hey guys, we have the 7th installments of our two most popular Bemani games coming out around the same time. Let's make a song that interconnects the two." and proceeded to tell dj TAKA (sound director for IIDX) and Naoki (sound director for DDR) to compose a song together.

Even though Kakumei sounds more like a dj Taka song than it does a Naoki song. Atleast with Outphase, it was like a cross between Taka and TaQ's arrangement.

And IIDX really never has had one main sound producer like DDR has, since the songs of IIDX were always a mix up of about a dozen different artists for any given style. If anyone, it was a split between dj Taka and Nagumo Reo for the more prominent IIDX composers.

I think Mr. T makes up a portion of the song list, on 10th anyway.

Actually, that machine was there for one main purpose:

Konami decided to show off Beatmania IIDX 13th Style DistorteD to show the US and other people who went to E3 how cool the game really is and that hopefully a lot of people start buying it now. It was also mainly used not to just show off DistorteD itself, but to mainly give reputation to all the IIDX games that Konami/Bemani has produced.

So, with DistorteD being displayed at E3, our chances of seeing another IIDX machine around our area has raised a bit.

Hmmm......methinks that be the reason why it's much easier to find BMUS at GameStop and EB Games now? Anyways, I hope to be recieving IIDX:Red in the mail sometime next week. Although I got 10th Style about 2 months ago (I'm late, I know), I'm getting it for some Injection of Love and Bloody Tears action!

Uh, Bloody Tears doesn't exist on IIDX RED. It's on DistorteD, just to let you know.

.....Dammit!! frust.gif Oh well, not having the song on the mix is not going to regret me from purchasing it. At least I'll get to see (hear?) what the fuss is all about with Red Zone. I also can't forget about being able to play the shafted Another mode from BMUS liscenses!
