The following is an E-mail I recently sent to MyMyBox. It details all the frustrations is have had with the company since placing my order.

The E-mail refers to the following product:

http://store.mymybox.com/ddrmbsgxg365.html

Dear Sir or Madam:

Before purchasing from MyMyBox I did a lot of research into metal DDR mats. Two things remained clear: that Blueshark was one of two higher quality products on the market, and that MyMyBox had somewhat questionable customer service. I hoped the customer service complaints were just a few flukes. I will now detail all the issues I have had since placing my order.

MAY 12th- I purchased a Blueshark GXG pad w/ handle bar + an additional XBOX control box. Since it was late at night on a Friday, I wasn't surprised when I didn't receive a tracking number over the weekend. I suspected, however, I would be given one on Monday.

MAY 15TH- I E-mail MyMyBox about apparent changes in manufacturer. I received a response in hours (impressive), followed by a link to the product. I was reminded that only versions without the handlebar were in stock. I replied to the e-mail explaining I had recently ordered a handlebar Blueshark and was wondering if this affected my order or if I received one of the last ones. I gave my order number. I never got a response.

MAY 16TH- I still had no response or tracking number. I called MyMyBox. The gentleman over the phone, who was very polite and courteous, explained to me they held the order because they thought possibly the inclusion of the XBOX control box was a mistake, or that I didn't realize the pad came with a control box (it wasn't and I did). He assured me the product would ship the next day and I'd receive a tracking number.

While this showed great foresight on the part of MyMyBox (I could see how this scenario might occur) I still had to wonder why it took MyMyBox so long to respond to me, holding up my (might I add, near $500) order. Still, overall, I was pretty pleased. I had received fairly quick responses, most of the time, and my order was on its way.

MAY 17TH- 6 PM and I still hadn't received a tracking number. I called and was told by the same sales representative, again very polite and helpful, that FedEx would be arriving in 15 minutes and my order page would update with a tracking number "within hours". I understood that being on the east coast there was a fairly large time difference between our locations and wasn't all surprised with the fact the item hadn't left yet. I left the conversation still satisfied.

MAY18th- at 2 PM the page still hadn't updated. I called before I left for work but only got the answering machine. Again, due to the time difference, I wasn't all that surprised. I left a message with my order number and phone number, asking for either a return phone call or E-mail with my tracking number.

MAY 19TH- my tracking number had still not been provided to me and I could not reach anyone at Mymybox. I am now frustrated enough I consider immediately returning the product. I send an E-mail to MyMyBox and around 7 PM I get a call from a sales representative apologizing, alerting me my order has been shipped, and even giving me the tracking number. He apologizes repeatedly and explains the company is in the middle of a management shift, and the new management hasn't learned to use the software. He has me try the tracking number, which works, and then checks "that they sent both control boxes." Having worked in retail in the past myself, I understand where the gentleman is coming from and tell him I appreciate the call. He offers to put me on a list to get me a substantial discount for MyMyBox's new pad when it is released.

MAY 24TH- My pad arrives. Upon inspection, I realize that there's only ONE control box. Closer inspection reveals it's a PS2 control box. Since I don't have a PS2, the pad is pretty much useless. Since the inclusion of two control boxes is what held up my order in the first place, I am rather irritated to see that there's only one and it's not even one of the ones I ordered.

I call Mymybox. No response. I go out and purchase a PS2 - USB converter from RadioShack. Doesn't work. The Blueshark's arrows are registered as Axes, not digital buttons, so you can't hit left/right or up/down at the same time. I call Mymybox again. I get an answer. I explain what happened, and the gentleman offers to send me a 3-in-1 box for Xbox, Usb, and Gamecube. Since I've been considering buying a copy of "Mario Mix" for gamecube, I'm happy with this.

However, after hanging up the phone I began to suspect I'm not being sent a control box at all, but a PSX adapter cable. I look into my e-mail and there's a letter from Mymybox with an attached picture of the product. The picture is currupted. I respond to Mymybox with the following E-mail.

"The picture doesn't seem to work. Is this a three-in-one Blueshark control box, or simply a 3-in-1 PSX controller adapter? I was under the impression this was a control box.

I've had many issues using controller adapters in the past and would prefer not to use one unless specifically made for the Blueshark. "

In a few hours I recieve the following response.

"According to my boss,Kevin, mymybox made this 3 in 1 adapter for mymybox brand
ddr dance pads."

I send another E-mail just to confirm that this product contains XBOX AND PC connectivity. At this point, I'm not giving MyMybox the benefit on any doubts. No response.

TODAY, MAY 27th- My 3-in-1 adapter arrives in the mail. As I suspected it's not a control box but a PSX converter. I'm a little peeved. Blueshark control boxes cost $29 a piece, and Mymybox is trying to make up for not sending two of them by sending me one converter product I didn't want which retails for $12.95 on eBay?
http://cgi.ebay.com/Playstation-1-2-Adapter-Converter-XBox-Gamecube-USB-mod_W0QQitemZ8267729743QQcategoryZ20385QQssPageNameZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting

But I take a breath. If this thing works, I figure I'll let it slide. Plus, I'll have Gamecube connectivity, so hey, maybe it'll work in my favor.

I plug it into my PC. The Blueshark's arrows are registered as axes. I can't hit left/right or up/down at the same time. The pad remains unusable. I try the XBOX. The pad works, but there's a two-second delay. This makes DDR pointless.

Furthermore, the cable is obviously NOT made by Mymybox for their metal pads. The cable is listed at Stepmania as INCOMPATIBLE with dance mats.
http://www.stepmania.com/wiki/USB_Adapters

At this point it has been 15 days since I made my order, and I still don't have a working pad. Please send me the PC and XBOX BLUESHARK CONTROL BOXES that I ordered and PAID for. This pad cost me nearly $500. I do not need a useless $500 piece of metal hanging around my room. No converter boxes, please. No more calls about management changes. Just please, send me the control boxes.

I'm sorry to hear about your problem, especially considering how much you had to spend, but I'm sure things will get worked out in the end.

Ugh, that really sucks. I would have lost my patience quite a while ago. Good luck getting what you paid for.

Just a quick update. Despite MyMyBox calling 2 weeks ago and telling me they'd send out the control boxes, I'm still stuck with a PS2 box.

well, they DID send you the pad. I've heard/know people who have expierenced worse with redoctane. Still, this worries me about getting a mymybox nexan metal pad in the near future. Not sure if i want to stick with them.

I had no problems when I got my SOLOMODE 2200 pad, so it must be hit and/or miss.

That problem of getting the right control box may be My My Box's fault, but the adapter problems are not since the RadioShack adapters really really suck.

Ouch...that really sucks, man.

Just a thought, have you tried the UP+SELECT+START trick on the PS2 adapters? Worth a go, at least you might actually be able to get some use out of it rather than having it just lie there.

Has anyone noticed that on the official page of this pad if you look closely at the pictures it looks as if the metal on the pad is bent? Looks like MyMyBox doesnt even know how to make one of these right

thats because it is bent on the X and O buttons...its supposed to bend upward. If you were talking about the back 2 metal panels, its probably due to the angle.

I was just wondering if they ever sent you the control box yet. That's pretty rediculous that companies can, and will do crap like this.

It is true it is by no means MyMyBox's fault the radioshack adapter doesn't work. However, if they had sent me the correct boxes to begin with, I wouldn't be dealing with adapters.

Then, instead of sending me the correct boxes, they send me their own crappy adapter that's far worse than the radioshack one.

I spoke to the supervisor about a week ago. He agreed this was just "shameful" (his words) and he would send out the control boxes. Still, no control box yet. It has been one month and sixteen days since my order.

I wouldn't order from them unless you're a patient person.

Like I said before, it is hit-or-miss, I got my SOLOMODE 2200 pad right on time, and others got their stuff on time, whereas you and many others had problems with delivery times... it really is hit-or-miss.

Hopefully they will not be bad when I buy replacement parts in the case I should need them.

Another update. I got ahold of the supervisor last night. He told me the control boxes had been sent out five days ago. I asked for a tracking number, and when he gave it to me, I checked it. I was told the package had been refused in some city I'd never heard of. It had been delivered to the wrong address.

He apologized and told me he'd send me an XBOX control box, a new 3-in-1 box they were testing, and give me a $50 credit.

I'll keep you guys posted.

Days since my order: 48

Another update. Had an E-mail from MyMyBox this morning. They say they've sent out the $50 rebate and that the new control boxes have just arrived from China. (They even sent me the tracking number from this). They will be shipping them shortly.

The one good thing of all this, IF it pans out, is that I will get some neat free toys. Namely, the PS2 control box they sent by accident (since I recently bought a PS2, this is useful), the PSX pad adapter (no good for DDR, but nice for games requiring a normal controler), and the upgrade from the USB box to the 3-in-1 box (not even sold yet). Plus, $50 savings. BUT this is assuming everything arrives eventually (and works).

Days since my order as of this post: 56

On a side note, if you're wondering, yes, I have used the Pad with my PS2. yes, it is probably the greatest pad money can buy. I actually prefer this a bit to the arcade pad. The Blueshark has a slight bit of give on the buttons. Not enough to create a "sinking" feeling but just enough you aren't likely to uncenter yourself during play (I normally do this alot).

Very impressed with the product.

Well, I woke up to a package from MyMyBox on my door this morning. I opened it to reveal-

2 XBOX control boxes. DOH!

At least I have half my order now. Also, I have a converter cable for my PC that works very well, so now too big a deal. Still, seeing as I paid $30 for the control box, I'm still going to call and ask for my PC box.

Again, the pad is simply fantastic. If your a patient person, I'd recommend it. Even with all I went through, I love this pad so much it's worth it.

Days since my order: 60
