Sometime's people get the idea that I would be perfectly OK with them standing on the 2P pad while I use it. Of course, they're wrong.

Hmm, little kids? Last time I was at the arcade I went to do LoM standard and some guy of large stature gets up and starts shadowing me partway through the song...and flailing everywhere. I stopped mid-song and whacked him upside the head (How I didn't get mauled I'll never know- I'm a small guy) and told him if he didn't know what the <strawberry> he was doing to stay the <banana> off of the pad and let me play in peace without his frantic stomping screwing me up.

he left. biggrin.gif

Rofl happy.gif Good for you
Very rarley, but not never, regular (as in not little kids) people can be more distracting/annoying then little kids. This doesn't happen much where I go, but it still happens. Sometimes by accident, sometimes not. Once some guy saw me playing a somewhat difficult song (Either END OF THE CENTURY, PARANOiA Rebirth, or DEAD END) and he was like "OMG WTF TAHT KID IZ TEH ROXXORZ LOLS". So he gets on the 2P pad so he can watch better. I'm OK with that. Then, he gets the idea that it'd be OK with me if he stood on the parts of the pad that aren't panels. I wasn't. I told him to move, as he was messing me up. He did. I didn't have to start yelling E13.gif

My top 5 things that piss me off while playing DDR are

1.People who try to make me lose to make their .5 footer friend feel good.
2.People who try to give bag words.
3.Complete NAOKI fanboys who only do ''pure'' NAOKI songs (I.E. D2R,B4U,Dynamite Rave)
4.People who say that they could pass that song blindfolded and fail miserably........................................................on Beginner mode
5.When the pads suck .Yes Fun World Fordham I'm talking about you

People try to give bag words? Damn, that must be annoying. That would annoy me a LOT. The song is bad enough without lyrics, it won't sound much better with lyrics.
By the way, what are the lyrics about?

Hi all,

I feel really noobish right now, but I have not the slightest idea what a coin line is.

I know it involves placing a coin on the screen, but how exactly does it work? How do you know whose coin is whose? Could someone either post or pm? Much thanks to all you helpful people.

The reason I don't know this is because there are no good arcades that I know of near enough to me to make it worth while. (Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada, for Canadians on the board)

A coin line, as I'm sure you already know, saves your spot on the machine. What you do is place a coin, token or some kind of object there to mark your spot. But you have to remember how many are ahead of you. Then as the next player goes up you keep track of how much is left until it's your turn.

Here's an example.
There are 3 coins on the machine when you put your coin up, so obviously you're 4th. Now a player just finished and the next takes their coin and goes up, now you're 3rd. This happens until it's your turn when you take your coin and play.

If you want to play again you just put your coin back up when you're done. You DON'T play again right away if there are other coins up there. You have to wait again.

As for your location, I think the closest DDR machines would be either Vaughan Mills (Crapocab), or Pacific Mall. The pads at P-Mall looks like crap but works surprisingly well.

Hmmmm, probably the most annoying and something that I hate is like...

"See that song that kid (me) is doing? I've seen people here that have AA'd it on heavy" or "My friend can AA (A) that on heavy."

It's like...I'm only 13, played DDR for like 4-6 months, can do about 25% of the songs on heavy and every standard. But...do you really have to talk like that while i play?!?!?!? I just feel like taking my coke on the side of the machine and splashing them with it. (Yes, I always keep a large coke beside me while playing, it's my reward drink)

There also is one at Putting Edge (broke entirely) and I think there is one at In Play Inc. Any comments for In Play?

I dunno, when I play I'm rather quiet and don't say much. I'm a fairly decent player that AA's nearly everything he plays and does all the cool spins and even Mirror Stealthing R3. At any rate, I'll be doing rather well in a game and a guy comes in, begs for a token from me, I say no. So he hangs around and he has this "vibe" about him like he owns the machine cuz he's the best player in the room. So he gets up there and proceeds to play. He moves fast, he moves hard, but he has no rhythm. He's doing heavy and all but makes a mid to low A on most of his songs and then walks off the machine as if he's bad buttocks. Then little quiet ole me trudges up there and proceeds to AA exotic ethnic on Extra Stage or something and he comments that I'm too obsessed with the game...

Tell that guy to meet me. He'd know obsessed. For two months of playing, I've passed PSH on heavy once, and sakura on heavy 3 times. I've done bag on heavy 2X and Bd it. Also I did a school report on DDR, failed, did it AGAIN on DDR and failed that time, then I did it a third time before it hit me...

Also I hate people like that too. I was at the arcade being normal, doing my saturdays 5 $ on DDR, when this guy comes up and puts his coins up. I get off, he gets on and says something like this: "If you think you're wait till you see tha master". So he picked Dynamite Rave on heavy, A'd it. He did his next to songs, which he did good on. I played versus against him, and for the first song picked EE. I got a B and he E'd it. Then I picked MAX 300. I D'd that and he failed. Then I Tried PSH knowing I was gonna fail. Amazingly I C'd it. He said I was obsessed too. I am...

lolz that happens to me too a lot. This one guy was doing bag and he was like ZomgBBQ!1 i beat a 10-footer. All his girlfriends were like :O! and i was just sitting in the corner.

Then he played again and I asked if I could play too and he says allright. He thinks that i'm some newbish little teenage girl 'cause he pushed the green button to activate my credits and chose beginner mode for me. Then he did speed over beethoven on heavy and i pwned him with my AA and his little b. I wanted to lol laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Also i hate ppl that get like 100-150 greats on heavy 7-8 footers and call themselves "really good". When they get like 200+ greats (more than half of the steps) i think that's just plain hilarious E13.gif laugh.gif E15.gif

Agreed. People who do piss poor at PA and act like they're Yasu for almost FC'ing the song annoy me to no end. My ITG move has REALLY improved my PA, and when I play DDR every now and then, I SDG songs a lot more often. Hell, I AAA'd CSFIL:SM, SDG'd Sakura, and Green Flagged B4U -B4 Za Beat Mix- (Yes I know it's a 7, but Green Flag is a Green Flag, no matter what.) All within the last week or so.

one time, there was this stupid noob who kept talking to me while playing. he kept asking me to pick songs he liked. i felt like telling him to shut up, but i guess i was in a better mood that day.

then he and his friends keep playing speed over beethoven light, so now i completely hate that song. sorry for those who like that song

I used to like it, but yeah, same thing happened. Someone kept playing it on Light/Beginner while bar raping.

So yeah, new record on Afronova: 26 Greats. It felt good, especially only using the bar for the crossovers at the beginning and a few places where I almost lost my balance.

Something happened yesterday night, which entailed to this: About 5 veterans were waiting in a coin line for this one n00b, who then fails a song, gets pissed and kicks the machine. And I'm not talking about a low kick; I mean a high, roundhouse kick to the side of the monitor. All of us descend on the guy and continue to pick him up, carry him over to the door and setting him on his buttocks. It was pretty damn sweet.

God, people suck. Is your machine okay? I can easily imagine that a kick like that might jostle some of the circutry around and screw with your monitor...

Picking him up like that must have been awesome, though. Kicking n00bs out for the win!
