I go to my sports store, to see my dream shoe.
On sale.
They're called Nike Frees, and they weigh virtually nothing. They have a sole that bends to your foot so that its like playing barefoot minus the pain of a roundhead CF screw tearing into your left foot.
I love them. If you see them under some sort of deal, at least try a pair on. |
I FOUND THEM!!! I'm gonna get a pair tommorow. They ARE SOOO AWSOME!!!! They are exactly like you said. _________________

Nike frees aren't very good for ddr. They're too loose. The material they are made of is strechy. Unless you play on your toes they won't work well. After playing ddr in 10+ pairs of shoes I've found that 3 things matter. The shoes should be flat, stiff, and light. I really liked my asics mexico 66's. Now I have some generic skate shoes. They work alright. I need to get more of a feel for them. I kept tripping myself up on the screws the last time I played. |

I play in My NSS's. They are these like $20 skate shoes, but they are awesome.
I think the best type of shoe (at least for me) would be pumas. They are very light weight, so I would be able to move my feet the fastest. I dont really need support because I dont stomp the hell out of the pad when I play. _________________

At home, I play barefoot. Easier. Less slippage.
At the arcade, I wear my keds. Unless I happen to be dragged into a game when I was already wearing boots.. then I have to play with socks.
Metal dance pad + socks = pain for my maidenly soft feet! _________________

I wear Adio skater shoes. But they've been beaten flat and there's no more padding in the bottom of the shoe (because they've primarily been used for DDR) and now my feet hurt whenever I have to stand for more then 3 hours in them
I need to buy a new pair, soon. |

You know what'd be fun? Has anyone ever seen those garden cleats with 1.5 inch spikes on them? Play on them with a soft pad, and cause hundreds of dollars in damage.
Oh, but my Frees are great. _________________

When I first played DDR in the arcade, I found that wearing shoes was painful. I took my shoes off and did it in my socks and found it less painful.
At home, I play in my socks. |

If I'm at home, then I play with socks on
If I'm at an arcade, I play with shoes on. Trust me, if you play in flip-flops at arcades, don't expect to do too well...I would know... _________________
