It's always seemed like Summer ran really slowly on the machine here. I passed it today and I thought, "That felt a lot slower than on Stepmania." HotN seems this way, too. You people who go to Brunswick Zone Naperville may have noticed, what do you think?

My question is, is my simfile fast, or does the machine just... go slow?

Yao: I can't dance without the machine.

I think that it just seems slow because you play SM with higher speeds because you don't have to worry about getting dehydrated or tired out from using your legs/feet like you would at the arcade. I know most people play with higher speed mods than they would at an arcade. For that reason, you could think that it is slower.

Uhh.... I think youre imagining it. I don't really know what you mean by "ran really slowly" though. You mean BPM wise? The song plays just as fast on stepmania as the arcade.. as well as the steps. I don't know why you would think it's slower.

are you talking about the original summer or summer speedy mix?

It's speedy mix. And I mean that it feels like the song runs on a slower BPM at the arcade than on SM. But it doesn't... I just don't feel like I need to hit the arrows as fast there. This has nothing to do with speed mods.

But, meh, maybe I will take this to the regional forums...

Your computer might be chugging a little bit and losing a few frames on Stepmania. High speeds on low-end Stepmania (or on DDR, for that matter) seem faster since they might not be running at 60fps, the way it does on ITG (for the most part).

I've felt that way about a few songs...such as TLoM in DDR and songs like that. On SM, they seem faster than they really are. I never really questioned it before, though.

Same here; I was playing One False Move in SM, and the song seemed to be faster than I remembered. I think it's just a perception.
