I think this is just one small step in Konami's ultimate plan to brainwash all the DDR fanatics into...well, I haven't figured out their goal yet, but it involves brainwashing. |

I'm curious as to what the hell a DDR house band could be. Not to mention what they could play. Maybe it'll be mr. Brian & The Final Band, although i was pretty certain that was just Naoki, so maybe it'll be the Divas. Oh wait, thats also Naoki. Maybe they'll just hire DJ K.Sly and tear it up in the three. six. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH. |

Like Spork said on the 1st page, a petition sounds good to me. I mean this show is gonna ruin the... true spirit of ddr. Now it's gonna be the Green Day or Fall out Boy of video games, or in other words, all the little kids and people who know NOTHING about the game will be into it and it'll ruin the game _________________

Good grief, you all are just as bad as when your favorite anime gets licensed and you all go "they're gonna ruin it" and all. Why is it that fandom -- no matter what kind of fandom -- always goes through that stupid otaku scream of "it'll be stupid because all the little kids are gonna start playing it waaah waaah waaah"..... It's like you all are so Goddamn possessive of something that honestly wasn't yours to begin with.
While personally I think this is a good way to keep the damn thing alive in the states.
If anything I'd WANT DDR to get more popular, especially with SuperNova coming out in the near future. Lord knows this country is fat enough already, and if more kids get fitter and leaner thanks to this, that's a plus for everybody right there.
DDR isn't supposed to be for those who discovered it first. DDR was NEVER intended to NOT be shared with other people, only to be shared by the so-called elitists. DDR is for EVERYBODY to SHARE.
p.s. I'd hope if they do this like a game-show, they do REAL tech scoring and tech battles, not just freestyle. (Jeez, is ANYTHING on DDR freestylable these days? Seems like that went out of style once every machine got upgraded to DDR Extreme.....)[/b] _________________

This show will be stupid. Saturday morning lineups are all but dead.

DDR TV show = gigantic amounts of free advertising = more annoying noobs at arcades = Neoderelict will cease playing DDR
What's next? Tetris? Air Hockey? Pac Man? Watching people watch people play video games... Konami must be desperate. |

There are Key Words in the announcement. They will not be playing DDR.
Dance Revolution (previously titled Dance, Dance, Dance!), a live-action television series inspired by Konami's hit video game franchise Dance Dance Revolution® (DDR)
AND
"This collaboration gives Konami an excellent opportunity to bring elements of the DDR franchise to television

lol, ^ pretty much exactly what i pictured ckiemnstr
also, im fine with more people playing DDR, i dont understand why people are complaining that this will bring more people to it. i dont like the idea because i think it will turn people off of it, not because im worried that there will be more newbies at the arcade or something. i love when new people pick it up, how else could we keep getting new versions of it? |

Kinda sounds like a rip-off of LazyTown, that weird show featuring an athlete encouraging little kids to be healthy and fit, instead of being lazy. I watch that show every morning before I go to school, and...
Konami, what have you done?
Too bad, though. There's nothing we can do about it. It's there for a good reason, anyways. |
