Difference Between Metal and Cell

What is the difference between the metal and cell arrow modifiers? They look the same to me. I also read that the cell arrow modifiers makes reading arrows easier. How does it do this? Thanks for your help.

cell makes them solid/bright as hell
metal's the default, which gives them a metallic shading (a colorful robot skin.)

Metal looks cooler, Cell looks bland, but if you're FAing, does that really matter?

Of course my score is the same with either.

I used to use metal a lot more cause i think it does look a little cooler. But i switched to cell recently because of the noteskins for stepmania... metal on SM appears a little light and blurry, making it harder to read the notes than it already can be (dropped framerate, plus they can blend in with bright bg's), so I switched to cell, which appear better in SM. I then started using it for Console/arcade as well, although i don't really think it matters for them as much as on SM.

When I play on cell its like playing on solo (with better graphics) all over again. Thats only my opinion though

The mines in Metal and Cel are also different.
