Refresh rate for TV?

I recently found out I have an RCA jack on the back of my computer, allowing me to hook a TV up and run anything that's on my computer, and project it on my TV (Which is so much nicer!). Well I recently found out if I set Stepmania to 640, the TV runs the game full screen, but it lags to a certain degree, and I'm pretty certain it's because of the refresh rate...does anybody have any idea what I can set the refresh rate at for my TV to run Stepmania more smoother? Right now I have it set to 75, and it still seems to lag a little...

60 hz huh...well dang, it seems to run horrible and laggy when it's down that low...I set it up to 70 or a little higher and it runs a lot better, but still too much... I guess my next question would be how high I can set the refresh rate up to before I burn a good picture of Stepmania into my TV...lol! Right now it's at 75, and hasn't done anything to my TV as of yet and I've been running it since today like that *shrug* I know my monitor can't handle 75 hz, but how high can a TV's refresh rate go to?

I have a great idea. Set the refresh rate to DEFAULT. kthx.

As far as I know the refresh rate of the TV itself won't be affected by any configs of the computer. It's probably the best to set it to the same your TV is usually using, which would be 50HZ for NTSC, 60 HZ for PAL, or 100HZ for these new 100HZ TVs...
Another reason for your lag could also be the fact, that it was always there but know you notice it more because of the bigger screen.
Btw, if you have an LCD/Plasma TV, that's the reason.
