I seem to remember reading in some study that ddr increases your reading speed. Could someone give me a link to that article, I think it was in a headline, but I cant find it listed in the topic.

Havn't heard this before, but it increases your reaction time, so I guess that could help.

Not really, since if you need a VIDEO GAME to increase your ability to READ there is something disproptionately wrong. Learning to read at high speeds on DDR is basically just learning to look lower on the screen and still react.

I can see what you're getting at. I really never care about the benefits I'm just there for what the games are made for, fun.

you misunderstood me, I dont need it to make me read better, or be more awesome in whatever way, I'm just in it for fun, but I'm trying to form a club at school, and thats a good point to bring up if I didnt imagine it.

1. stamina increase
2. running speed increase
3. loss of weight
4. strengthen leg muscles basically #2
5. loss of intrest in most other games (probably just me and a few others)
6. increase skill in timing in many activities (handball, drumming, dancing to other stuff decides ddr/itg)

It also helps your musical abilities When i first started DDR I was playing my violin (I still do) so finding a beat was easy for me but that's another benefit.

I'd say the only unhealthy downside to DDR is all the trippy effects in the backgrounds. They don't bother me, but it might give photosensitive people seizures if they play too long in the dark.

Well, there's the heath part of it. DDR is the only exercise I get, but I get more exercise playing it than I ever did in gym class.
There's also the fact that you can go to an arcade and show off. biggrin.gif

DDR has not helped my reading speed much. It's took me forever to read three chapters in 'To Kill A Mockingbird' yesterday.

I just finished that book last week and I personally think those chapters were rather long.
