Meh, I posted this in the other "proper" thread but I'll post it here as well since this is the one Ugge is reading. :-)

I couldn't get the demo hack to work without Static.ini (weird input bugs described earlier), so I tried some things while leaving it.

There are two sets of lines "AdditionalFolders" and "AdditionalSongFolders" in Static.ini; I modified those, I'm not sure if they have any effect. Leaving Static.ini in results in a program that actually runs, but I can only get to any added songs in Edit or Practice mode, not in the main game (Dance, Fitness).

EDIT: Oh, and with Static.ini still there, Preferences.ini gets rewritten every time the game runs. I figure that if I get it to work this way, I'll just write a batch that copies a modified Preferences and then runs the game.

It seems to me that you will have to keep static.ini the way it is and then add AdditionalFolders=bah bah to Preferences.ini everytime you start the game... Its the only way I can get everything to work. (Easy to do with a batch file like you said.)

To see the songs in Dance mode change sorting to Group, Title or whatever. (press up-down-up-down at the song wheel)

Wow... so simple! I hadn't thought of changing sort, but it worked. Much thanks and appreciation for the help.

In a little bit I'll be testing the ps2 version with updated metrics/statics and script. If it works ill edit this post and give instructions on how to do it.

Ok...it works. Completely sectioned group sort, the only problem is group doesn't show up on the sort select, I can only get it to be default. So if you change the sort you have to quit and go back in to have it sorted by group again. Also the game appears to crash when going into the game options. Until I figure out at least one of these problems I dont think im gonna post the solution unless you really bug me to.

hello,

yesterday i tried some things with the PC version OptionsMenu.lua,
and all Tests i have made failed,
as the OptionsMenu.lua seems to be just a little different from the ps2 version,
so i have another idea, which i will try out tonight.

Interesting bug: I have a song with a specific bg movie, and if you play it once, it works fine. But, if you cut it off in the middle and then go back into the song, the bg movie will pick up where it left off instead of restarting. It's possible the sm file is malformed but I doubt it.

What format is that movie in?

I've yet to see BG movies work in ITGPS2.

AVI. PC, by the way, not PS2, although I can't imagine it'll work any better in either game.

Oh, PC. DivX works with the PC version.

BTW, AVI doesn't tell me anything, since AVI could be mpeg, it could be DivX or Xvid, etc.

I just want to use the - signs on stuff. That could very well be my single favorite thing about ITG2.
