My ignition-ripoff pad just broke and my parents said they would buy me a metal pad. I was thinking of getting a cobalt flux with arcade mod arrows, but they claimed its too much disgust.gif . So i've been looking around on various sites and found a few pads that looked pretty good.

1. Blueshark Metal Dance Pad- Looks a lot like the afterburner, however on the site it claims to have arcade sensors that work on a DDR/PIU cabinet and includes a 6-month warrenty. It looks like i might go with this one as long as it will get me through a couple years(until i have a job and can get a cobalt flux) I just want to know how MYMYBOX's customer service/reliability is and the overall quality of the pad is. And does it use metal or foil contacts?
http://mymybox.com/ddrmbsgxg.html

2. MYMYBOX Solomode Metal Pad-Looks like the TX-100, which worries me. It is only $120, however, and doesn't have a warrenty. The price would is awesome, however, so I would like to know if its worth it at all. http://mymybox.com/ddrmt6.html

3. TX1501-TX never seems like a good brand from what I see, but this is cheaper than crap and the reviews all seem to say its a good pad with a few flaws. Anyone got anything to say about this one? I would get it off lik-sang, because they are a very reliable site and this is just really cheap.
http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=237&products_id=3221&PHPSESSID=3c41db64bd3eeee047848d41e942bb4b

4. TX4000- Looks sharp and has a good price, but the arrows dont look like they're raised or reccressed, but it claims it is like the arcade platform.
Maybe I'm wrong, but let me here what you have to say about this one.
http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=237&products_id=8082&PHPSESSID=3c41db64bd3eeee047848d41e942bb4b

5. Wait until i save up $120 for a cobalt flux. I don't really want to have to do this, but if it really is truly worth it, I will. If not, I'll get one of the 4 above and get a cobalt flux once I can get a job(in about a year and a half I turn 16) .

here are a few things to keep in mind.

I play about 3-4 hours a day, and play hard songs. I step fairly hard, and weigh about 146 pounds. I hate having flat surfaces and play at the arcade once every week or 2. I want a pad that somewhat resembles an arcade pad in terms of feel and sensitivity.

Please tell me which pad you would reccomend.

If they're paying for it, I would definataely go for the blushark. If they won't pay even that much, just get a tx4000. Or just save up a little and get a cobalt.

how do you know cf>all? And also, i would like a little more detail of why you reccomend. The one i'm leaning torwards is the blueshark(looks GREAT, i here its just like the ITG2 dedicab pads!) but the price is a little on the high side. I here its even better than the cobalt flux with the arcade mod. Its about $70 less, and it looks hella cool.

If my parents dont allow me to get it, i think ill go with the tx-4000

Out of those, I would say either the blueshark or the CF, the other ones dont seem arcade-like at all, and the cheap ones will probably break in less than a month. At least with the two I suggested you have the 6 month warranty (though you wont even need it with a CF). I dont know much about the blueshark pad but I'd look into some more reviews on it to see if it's worth the money.

The only problem with the Blueshark is that it's SUPER heavy (weighing in at 85 lbs.), which is why I'm getting a CF E13.gif .

The mymybox MT6 is pretty damn good at least to me. I recently took it to Cleveland and it took the abuse of two 11 year olds, and a few 8 and nine year olds and me stomping on it. Unlike the TXXXX series and the Afterburn there is no wood at all. It's completely metal and is constructed similar to a Cobalt Flux. Nine Individual panels with 6 triggerable panels and a ontrol box on the the lower right panel.

There are some flaws obviously.

The Cobalt as we all know or have heard is ridiculously reliable. And its flat... Which may take time to get used to.

The Blueshark is just as good as the CF. Unless you plan on taking it somewhere it weighs about 65 lbs however it has arcacde sensors and is very responsive. There is only one per arrow instead of the 4 that true arcade pads have.

CF now makes the "arcade mod" which gives you extra corner and center panels to raise them, thus making the arrows sunken in. Works great for the arcade feeling.

Personally, I'd stay away from TX- anything. They still use the foil-grid contact system and lots of people have wire breakage problems.

does the 1 sensor make much of a difference? I really am leaning torwards the blueshark now, its cheaper than the CF and from what i here is as good(or in some cases better) as it and has more of an arcade feel. I think i'll be ordering one up sometime this week and just cant WAIT till im dancing on it.

Plus i dont have to wait that longggg 2-3 weeks, site says around 1 week!

And this means a hella lot more better scores at the arcade because i'll be able to make the perfect window smaller. Also, do you think i should get a USB control box along with the PS2 control box for it? I have a smartjoy dual plus converter, but i here some lag on that can slightly affect scores.

So is the control box worth it?

It looks nice and very stong. I like that the handle bar comes with leather grip. Not like other metal pad handle bar only comes with sponge grip.

That's a good thing (at least for me). I love heavy pads cause they don't at all slide. I mean, I'm only like 110 lbs, and my old tx slid all over the place.

I don't because I'll need to move it for StepMania, parties, church events, etc.

bad news....my parents wont get me a blueshark or cobalt flux....unless i pay $100 for it..so i dont think ill be getting either of those.

But the TX-4000, that pad looks pretty good. If i have to do a few mods to it, thats ok, my parents said if i find a metal pad under $200 i can get it. Also, i noticed it has recressed arrows also. It looks pretty durable(over a year, at least) as long as i take decent care of it.

Is the TX-4000 good, or decent at least? And what mods will i have to do to it. I want it instead of the other metal pads because i never have to worry about cracking panels and such. I'm gonna search more on it.

I dont believe it has recessed arrows, but it looks like a decent enough pad considering the low price.

no, ive seen a pic of it at an angle, the edge is slightly above the panel.

its recressed, you must be thinking of the BNS pads, where there all one surface. The TX4000 isnt 1 surface.

do not ever get a 1 surface metal pad. you will never be able to fix it when you have a problem. it is good idea to get a separated arrow metal pad. it is good idea to get 6 piece arrow metal pad over 1 surface metal pad.

If you're trying to choose between two or more pads, then post IN THE THREADS FOR THOSE PADS. Do NOT make a new thread for this.

DO NOT POST A "WHICH PAD IS THE BEST?" THREAD.
If you really want to know, do some research. You'll narrow it down pretty quickly. Do *NOT* post a thread asking for information that you could have easily found by looking - why should anyone else exert effort on your behalf when you were too lazy to find out yourself?

I do believe that includes "recommendation" threads.
