Have you actually met a random friend?

I'm sure many of us here use DD:Recall or something similar, and once in while we will receive a challenge from some random person.

So my question is, after receiving these random challenges, have you ever actually met the person in real life? You don't have to have gotten together to play the game, but I'm just wondering if DDR has provided a gateway to meeting people.

it has for me. Not actually through ReCall though. I go to the arcade every tuesday from open to close every summer. The first Summer I started doing that I met just about every avid DDR player in my city, most of which I know well now.

I met OshawaAce while visiting an arcade in San Francisco. Since I'm from Maine, it's quite a stretch. :-)

it happend with me a little differently, theres this guy, another guy and a guys girlfriend who go to the local arcade and i met them when i was getting some water and then we seen how good we are and now we're good friends
is this what you mean?

Ive never really meet anyone from recall, but Ive meet people from my local DDR site. kyddr.net

I was playing once at an arcade and I randomly meet someone who is a pretty good friend of mine now without actually knowing he was registerd on kyddr.net

Our crew actually hangs out about every weekend. Went to a club friday night, and went to a beach last night. Got warnings for trespassing though from the county police. Wooops! But our crew is quite large, it's not like 4 or 5 people. It's about 25-30 at any given time.

I found Nine-Volt at a mall I occasionally go to. Well, he sorta found me. I was standing there and he goes, "Are you Jimizzle from DDR Freak?" I replied with, "Uh...yes? o_O"

I met a good friend playing DDR...nowadays since she's better than me,she helps me with ITG songs higher than llevel 11 and such,also we work on my technique.

I lurked on this site for two years before I really started posting in regional boards, and even after I started posting in regional boards I still didn't meet a lot of people there.

I met most of NE here on DDRFreak before I met them in real life, and a lot of people in Mid-A who apparently recognized me or something. I knew of people on these boards here before I actually met them as well, especially with me going to PA to play.

I haven't met anyone through Recall yet, though... not that I can think of. People recognize me from Recall and Groovestats and can tell me some of my scores better than I can, and it's kind of freaky...
