I just recieved a CF with clear arcade mod. Since I have an Xbox, I did some research and got that innex PS2 to Xbox converter that someone sells on ebay. However, nothing is registering with my Xbox. The start and select on the control box don't even do anything. Does anyone know what I should do? The pad is nearly brand new, so I doubt that's the problem. Are there different control box requirements when using a CF with an Xbox? |

use the Gemini converter. It's only about $15
However, if that doesn't work, then request a replacement. Most of the geminis work, but there is a good percentage that you'll get one that doesnt work. my 2nd one works fine _________________

I got my Gemini converter at CompUSA, but it's not so great. It worked perfectly for a few months, and then it just suddenly stopped. Now none of the buttons register with the Xbox, and since the pad still works fine with my PS2, it must be the converter. |

We've had the CF pads for over a year now. The left arrow on one of them keeps going off...sometimes fast, sometimes with no rhythm.
I've taken it apart and tried all sorts of fixes, but nothing's worked for long.
My son made a dance pad--(Science project), so we know how to wire one from scratch, but we can't figure out how to fix this one.
I haven't had any luck with the CF techs. (It's not the PS2, it's not the connectors. It's the stupid pad wiring.)
Has anyone else had this problem and fixed it without trashing the pad?
I don't want to get new CF pads, because they're too much $$ and this one has been a problem since we got it. |

There is a toggle switch on the adapter that switches from game pad to something else to DDR (or dance pad - can't remember) - make sure the switch has been moved to the DDR position. I have two of these adapters and they work ok for me (I also have the gemini converters wwhich also work very well except they don't disable the corner buttons in UM1).
PS - nutty turnip - same thing - that converter has two settings - game pad and steering wheel - have you double checked the gemini to make sure the toggle switch on that one didn't accidently get switched to Steering Wheel? |

That is because all store bought pads suck. I have made my own ever since I have played DDR/Stepmania. I would never pay good money for a store bought pad...
Take it to the recycle bin and make your own. |

Geez, thanks for the over-generalization. |

Uh.. at least use the pad for extra parts, rather than throw something away. If I ever see a metal pad in the trash or bin, I will pick it up and keep it. Fix it up a little bit.
Any... CF is bad huh? I WAS going to get it.
Or this only happens when it's mod? |
