That would be the "Groove Radar," which shows the step content of a song in the following categories:
Stream- Amount of steps that come in quick succession (8th notes usually)
Voltage- Overall density of steps (How many steps there are)
Air- Density of jumps
Chaos- Density of really offbeat and non-flowing step patterns (double stepping)
Freeze- Density of Freeze Arrows _________________

I knew I had something wrong, thanks for clearing it up. |
Technically, "dark mode" was introduced in DDR 4th Mix JPN PS. It was introduced in challenge mode (Mission Mode in US Consoles PS2). _________________

For some reason I don;t get as tired on Unlimited as on Max 300, but I can PA Max 300 a lot easier. At least, my black-flag says that xD
Oh, umm, Mx 300 was crazy when I first saw it. I started on a Max2 though, so like whats-his name, I played Unlimited more. _________________

I started playing DDR relatively late, about 2.5 years ago. At that time, I wasn't serious at all about it. My first encounter with Max 300 was on Ultramix and it was one of those songs that need 4 people to pass it. Even about a year ago I thought it was crazy. I have passed it a few times but only with Cs and Ds. I just think you need a lot of stamina. |

I was pretty excited about max 300.I always found myself too tired to pass it,though,so it took awhile of practice before I could make it.Eventually I was able to do a consistant B or A,and I'm pleased.Stil,I don't like it too much. _________________

When I first saw Max 300 I thought it was awesome and just had to get good enough to pass it + all of the other 10's.Been playing 2 months and now I can consistently A+B it, pretty close to AAing it in the arcade. |

Like almost everyone else, it was something like "How is ANYONE supposed to pass that?!"
How naive I was. _________________

When I first heard about Max300, the thought of a 300 bpm song basically blew my mind. Then somebody sent me the stepchart, and I looked at it, and my eyes went wide. My reaction, I think, was "There is NO way in hell that humans can move their feet that fast."
Imagine what would have happened if I saw Fascination. |

I'm sure there's a lengthy detailed description about the history of MAX 300 somewhere- but I'm not going to be the one to tell you.
I heard it first when a friend of mine lent me the DDR MAX, DDR MAX 2, and the DDR EXTREME CD (all of them ROCK). Anyway, when I first heard MAX 300, I was like "Hey, that sounds REALLY cool." Before I got the stepchart to it, I thought it would have BOTH the steps and the music going at 150 BPM. (Technically, the music is only 150, but the steps are double speed- Hence, MAX 300) Little did I know. After getting the stepchart and nearly killing myself on my bedroom floor the first 50 times, I began to pick up the patterns in the charts, and actually played MAX 300 in the arcade and got a C. Now I get B's and A's on the thing (Light mode, of course).
Now the two MAX songs I fear the most are The legend of MAX and MAX. (period) I just can never seem to move my feet that fast... _________________

O_o Really? Because I swear it feels A LOT faster than MAX 300, but that could just be me... _________________

Yup. It's just that the 600 BPM part is hard to read, and there is more stream than MAX 300. You'll be able to read the fastness with practice. I can FC it. (On StepMania lol) _________________

My 1st reaction:
"Ok, this doesn't look hard." *Song starts* "ZOMFG!!! IT'S DROP OUT ON CRACK!!!"
I'd like to see people's reactions to PSMO! |
