Now that I think about it... I am now a no-bar person... haven't used a bar, or anything like a bar to hold on to in months.

Tack on some speed mods, then do songs no-bar. Considerably harder.

Burning Heat 3X. Have fun with that.

Witch Doctor 3X. Again, have fun with that one.

I don't use the bar unless it's an extremely hard song like LoM or CSFIL:SM, or unless I'm really tired. PSM on Heavy and Oni are just too hard to do with the bar, with all the turns.

I have a friend who uses the bar for standard and light, my god... but it's okay, he's really good at Initial D, he's not too big on DDR. I guess some people just have trouble keepingbalance if they don't play alot.

But nothing's more boring than watching someone bar rape. I pretty much lose any interest I had in watching them. I never bar.

Well my girlfriend uses the bar. She says it helps her allignment on the pad. It makes sense when you think about it, I guess.

As for myself, I don't use the bar at all... If I do use it it's just a tap on the side of the bar to help me pivot my body faster. I've tried to use the bar but it seems to have a negative effect on me.

I tried that one once... hence why I don't use speed mods higher than 1.5x. E4.gif

If you can PA at 1x/1.5x, why have speed mods so high the bar must be used?

I eat burning heat alive! (brag brag laugh.gif ) now that that's over.I see no reason in hating bar use.I moderately use it (not for 10's oddly enough) but Tsugaru and cartoon heroes I normally keep one hand on.It's their quarters,if you don't like looking at it,you have the capability to turn your neck around and look away. How the hell is it weak?

You know, the one argument I see all the damn time that goes hand in hand with bar use is mod use. So I figured I'd clear up both issues right now.

Konami designed this game to be played without the bar, and without any mods.

That's why both extra stages use mods, and we have those big red pieces of metal behind us when we play.

Yeah, for Tsugaru's crossover section, I place a hand on the bar, but usually I use the bar mainly for balance or if I'm playing a 10-footer other than Sakura. (should be a 9, if you ask me)

I use the bar for the exact same reason. About 90% of my DDR playing is done at home on a metal pad and I have no problems with stamina on 10's, but at the arcade I have problems centering myself on the pad since I play with my metal pad straight in front of my TV instead of off to the right or left. I can do songs without the bar but I find myself constantly dancing on the brackets or on the edge of the arrows.

I honestly don't like to use the bar very often myself only for hard songs, but rarely, and for trying to reach certain arrows on a song, also that's only with one hand on the bar.

This one kid at my arcade is really good. He must have won a tourney or something. But he uses the bar on every song. People still look up to him though. But he doesnt seem to talk to people below his level (me). I mean I watched him use the bar the entire time on Love and Shine heavy. I can do that without touching the bar once... granted, I cant AA it like he did... but I hear so much "oooh! dont use the bar! its cheating!" while people like him use it every second of the song. I am also too short for the bar which is a problem when trying to reach the up arrow.

1st. It's Love Shine not Love And Shine just so you don't sound like a noob.

2nd. People are noobs they made it to be used (which i've already stated ^^^) I use the bar for a few songs i don't need to but i just do.

The bar was originally designed to be used for safety reasons only. The original manual even says in it that it's not for holding onto for dear life. Granted, when I was a n00b, I whored it, but meh...
