Runs great on my iMac G5 2.0ghz, you guys need a decent graphics card to run this. I have a ati 9600 128mb and it runs flawless at 1440x900 with everything up.

I tried my best at hacking it but I have come up short because of those damn .pck files. I can't figure out how to get around them.

Necro requested; request granted.

Update - I've got the hack running fairly well with beta1. It seems to need Static.ini to run; without it, the game behaves in the weird manner I described in the other thread. However there are a few lines in Static.ini that can be changed -- namely, "AdditionalFolders" and "AdditionalSongFolders". The interesting thing is, the songs will show up in Practice and Edit modes, but not in the main game itself.

It's cool, but what I don't understand (this is dance pad related) is why don't certain people's pads don't work well with PC and others do. My pad works fine on PS2, but on the PC, it's an entire differnent story. Does anybody know why that is?

Is there some specific sampling rate or info about the .ogg files that the game needs to read? Because I have one file going that I randomly found in .ogg, but it won't read the other file with an mp3->wav->ogg file.

They need to be 48 kHz. I've never heard of the game flat-out not reading the file, but if it isn't 48kHz it'll play at the wrong speed. 4Musics MP3 to OGG converter will allow you to (obviously) get MP3s to OGGs; the nice part is it has full customization of bitrate, sample rate, etc. It's not free, but you can get a 15-day trial, and 15 days should be more than long enough to convert all your files.

Stepmania runs like absolute crap on my PC, but the ITG PC demo runs really smoothly. It feels weird, not having every menu bump and jerk. I have a celeron laptop with 512mb ram and an intel EXTREME graphics card which is on-board and crappy, so you really don't need a good PC to run this.

Well I am having a few problems, probably like everyone else.

This thing keeps rewriting preferences.ini when I add AdditionalFolders, so I keep having to re-add that line everytime before I start up ITG, even if I put on Read-Only mode. Anyone know how to fix this?

Otherwise, this thing runs awesome-ly.

When you say "fix" it, do you mean stop it overwriting so you can add more songs to the game? If so, I'm pretty sure that's not "broken", since it's being intentionally disabled.

Well, I've so far have moved all of my DDR packs into ITG. However, I have to always go back and re-edit the preferences.ini

Maybe there is some sort of program there can be used to prevent from the program from writing the files back to their default.

beta 3 also has some 'mod' protection in it, see http://www.ddrfreak.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=8455384

btw, still no updates on getting around it

in the groove, it's seriously awesome, and My family has two metal Ion Dance pads able to withstand 300 lbs. It's better that our old metal one, witch was better then our old foam pads. anyway, i'm trying to get better, and i like to shuffle steps to practice being able to read them. I also have a very low personal best for pandemonium, witch is 35.68% and then failing. My brothers best is 82%,,, on pad. this is all on pad. We never play controllers. I'ts seriously weak. :) $nerd; ^^; . I LOVE ITG. I'm hoping to be one of those players who is good in general and NOT just good at doing some songs. My brother owns me at pandemonium and anubis, but i have the record for Zodiac :D :D :D :D :D so that's pretty cool. so anyway, send me a message on your quest for itg. I also hope to someday do In The Groove for charity.
