My down arrow on my Dance Pad pro series gamestop pad is stating to poop out. Before i cut it open and do operations, how should i fix up the sensor? anyone know how.
and for those not farmilular with the gamestop pro series dance pad, its just your basic ignition pad knockoff. |

Personally I'd rather buy a new pad than rip open a broken one to fix it. That being said, I was able to fix one of my ignition knockoff pads, but it still only gave me an extra month of gameplay for over 2 hours of work. Not worth it if you ask me.
You didn't mention what the problem is, but this website is handy:

Seriously though gamestop pads suck. Even the flimsy ones (non-ignition) only last a month even if you do the plywood mod. I hear lots of good things about the 2006 blueshark deluxe model if you're looking for a cheap alternative to an ignition pad. I can't vouch for them myself, but people here who have that pad say it's good. _________________

this is the pro series, and it has last me a good 3 months for a mere $40. The pad is the best ignition pad ive ever used, beating even the redoctane pads after i replaced the poopy foam with real ignition foam. Maybe if i keep having problems with my pad after i attempt to mod it, ill buy one of those blue shark pads you speak of.
then maybe once the summer starts ill make a metal pad. |

$40 for 3 months isn't too bad. Much, much better than an ignition. Too bad they don't make the 3.0 like they made the 2.0 - those things last for a year or more. _________________

my pads working fine now after i did some foam mods like that little dance pad fix-it thing says.
and this has to be the best pad ive ever bought. $40, used over 3 hours a day average on heavy+(as in songs that are more than heavy in ITG and stepmania) and it even works with my USB adapter perfectly(smartjoy dual box, the perfect USB adapter)
There one other thing thats been bugging me though. When i play on my PS2, whenever i load up in the song list or picking my difficulty and such, it will take me back to the main menu. It doesn't do this with japanese mixes(party collection and extreme JP i know) or on my computer through a USB adapter, or even on xbox! I can still switch them in right before the song starts and it works fine, its just a little weird.
Do you know what triggers this? |
