Performing Foam Pad Surgery?

well recently my foam pad's down arrow has been wigging out (wont work during DDR songs but works for menus?) so I was thinking of cutting it open and performing some surgery, i've already checked numerous guides, so I know what problems to look for.

assuming i have to replace the foam layer inside, which foam type is best to replace it with? (whats it called and what stores would be likely to carry it)


Also was thinking of making a metal pad sometime soon, anyone have links to a good tutorial or something?

screw fixing the foam pad, just build your own metal pad

soft pads are just gay to fix

go to the home built pad section and check that out...there are at least 3 sites that have good instuctions: ddrhomepad, riptide, and stoli
