I've had my TX-6000 pad for three months, but I've only really played it for the past several days. Today, my up arrow just started going bad. Now it's not registering anything.

I know you can do some level of disassembly on the pads. Is there any way I can fix it? I really don't want to think that I wasted over $200 for this pad.

It's probably a broken connection. Take off the up panel and then check all the wires leading to the circuit board thing under the arrow. If that looks 100% perfect (which I don't think it will) then it's probably your control box. E1.gif

Do I have to pull the sensor up from the wood to check it?

Umm... I'm not exactly sure what the tx6000 sensor looks like, but if it is like my pos tx1000, then the sensor sould be on a thin black foam thing. If it is just kinda lift up the foam and you can see wires going into a hole E1.gif

I was playing just now and my up arrow is starting to go on the blink. You cant get to any wires except for a few. There is a ton of foam and a metal thing that is glued to the wood. can barely get to any wires. i am so upset... what good are arrow replacements if they dont fix the fricken thing?

Hmmm... Yeah, the newer tx's are very hard to dig into. it might be your control box, but I honestly think it's a broken connection erm.gif

It's the sensor. My dad and I took a look at it, and we could bypass it with one of the washers, but we couldn't get the sensor itself to work anymore.

Just what is that sensor called?

Does anyone have the faintest idea WHAT this is, and where I can get one? It is the sensor in the TX4000/6000 metal dance pad.

That's the copper grid portion of the sensor. Your probably do not need a new one, as the electrical contact is made when the metal part under the 2 arrows touches the grid and completes the electrical connection.

From your picture, the grid does not look worn out at all. I'd put my money on a broken wire somewhere and/or a bad solder connection from the wire to the grid.

Okay, I just wanted to get some input here.

We resoldered the sensor plate in. Now it doesn't work normally. BUT... if I touch the edge metal of the pad with one hand and then touch the sensor, it works. I also noticed that the X and O pads don't work now (down, left and right still work).

Could this be endemic of a control box problem? I have ordered one just in case.
