I'm going to put my input into what I want Beatmania 2nd Style US to be.

1.) I'd like more songs. There should be some songs from both the older styles and the newer ones as well. I'd assume that there'd be less of the newer songs to intrigue us into buying future styles. Perhaps have them as a "preview" sort of thing;
2.) I'd like a better interface. I think that it should be more brighter to appeal to the non-hardcore players or already existing fans;
3.) I'd like more courses to be able to be unlocked and played. I think those really make the game worth playing as well. This would be even more true if you had the Internet ranking allowed for these things too;
4.) I think there should be definitely more unlocks. I think that there should be things like gallerys, art, and stuff like that that people would really want to have;
5.) I think that since this is a "DJ simulation game," there should be more licenses. I'm thinking about Svenson and Gielen and some of the dance and trance that were licensed for the DDR games. You know, to appeal to a certain niche as well as the people that might pick this up casually.

I'll probably have some more later. (:

5 key is fun... so is 7 key, but I don't like having to switch between the two, and I also don't like that some of my favortie song aren't on the other. I can possibly understand the seperation on Game Mode, but for Freeplay, perhaps the 5 and 7 key songs could be on one list, seperated, but not on different menues.

I also want a better UI. This one was quite ugly, and Goli art would be nice. Charachters would also be nice to have, but not a neccessity. I like the idea someone brought up of basing the whole theme around what charachter you choose.

A tougher grading system. Though sometimes I think i did better than it told me (hello denial), sometimes I wonder why I got A's. Also, tighten up the timing. It seemed like I had to go off beat to perfects on some songs, but others were quite fine.

More licenses, more songs that have been in DDR, and at least a few songs that are fan favorites. This time we got V and Colors, but that was really the only BM songs that I knew that was uber popular. Perhaps songs such as Ageha and Xepher could be brought over. Or, perhaps after made famous by Supernova, the new crossovers for that (AA, Murmur Twins, Xepher, and DoLL) could appear in the next game.

Also, I like the idea of a jukebox unlock system. I'll go a little in depth.

What if for each song you play you get credits. You can use those credits to watch videos, or perhaps other features in the jukebox. You would also get special coins from accomplishing certain tasks. Perhaps if you beat Abyss on all difficulties with an A you get a special coin that, when put into the jukebox, reveals a special unlock video, and tells you that you've unlocked a new song. You could by this route even make new "themes" unlockable. These could include goli themes, and perhaps a DDR theme which gave you a DDR style song selection screen that would be more familiar to players new to BM who have been playing DDR. These would also make for interesting US exclusives, which is something we need.

I also think it would be cool to offer a mod that made the keys not keysounded, but rather played the song normally. This way you could hear the song and practice. You would still recieve timing judgements so you could perfect timing better. I've noticed that I often do better timing wise on songs I know than on those I don't, probably because on the ones I don't know I don't know the tune well enough to time it right.

More licenses! And more licenses that aren't necessarily 80's covers. The licenses in EX2 were perfect, especially As the Rush Comes, Silence, and Spin Spin Sugar. Things like Cascada would be wonderful additions, perhaps even DHT's Listen to Your Heart (seems to be a good fit for BM). these are increasingly popular in the US market, and would be nice additions to the game. And need I say the words "US Exclusives"

I think a link between the next DDR here in the US and BM could be created. I think, especially with the addition of BM videos for SuperNova, that by playing a song in BM US 2 (or whatever it will be called), that is also a song in DDR Extreme 3/DDR SuperNova (or whatever it will be called), you unlock the BM Video for DDR. With the increasing popularity of DDR, it would be a good marketing strategy. In turn, DDR could unlock a special thing for the jukebox I mentioned. Perhaps having a DDR file saved on the same memory card could unlock a DDR theme like I mentioned. That would be one SWEET exclusive.

That's all for now.

I just want these songs:

The Beauty of Silence - Svenson and Gielen
Reincarnation - DJ Taka
Disabled the Flaw - D-Crew
Be Lovin' - Uh, I forgot. (D-Crew, I think?)

i would say just include more popular DDR tracks(like naoki and such) so the "casual DDRers" know what the songs are. And by casual DDRers, i mean the heavy players that just play a console mix and at the arcade, not having a bunch of modded up dance pads rigged up to your PC and a bunch of import bemani games.

They need to appeal to them so it's more noticed. Also, make the interface a little sexier. This interface looks like some ITG crap. Where's my cool silky smooth extreme 2 interface?

Also, maybe include a few more licenced artists. Although i personally don't like licenced stuff, something like linkin park might work whether well, expecially stuff off their reanimation CD. Just an idea, bemani. Even I while i was playing though about linkin park+beatmania=good combo.

And more j-pop. We need more j-pop! Jelly Kiss is thus far my favorite song. And Genom Screams. But i'm talking some of the BeForU stuff like sylvia drive(i think thats what its called) that actually is from a japanese mix of beatmania.

Some americans like there j-pops, dont take the j-pop away from your US games!!

also, make sure you launch the next one with extra controllers you can buy! you don't know how much it pisses me off when i get a new music game and i cant even find another frikin controller for it for 2P, something that i usually would like, considering the music games-party where there always noticed.

I would like these songs.

5.8.8.
Gigadelic
The Strong Jeager (Ryu Remix and the Original)
Schlagwerk (Probably won't happen, though.)
R3
PF Concerto Scorpion Fire "Anti-Ares"
The Dirty of Loudness (I wish)

That's all, really. Beatmania US's songlist is keeping me impressed a lot because most of my favorite songs are on there.

I also would like a much better unlock system (because Another and a few more expert courses just isn't enough unlocks).

I don't like the band much but I was thinking Linkin Park for quite some time. Breaking the Habit would be a perfect song for IIDX...even the video would work great. Also it would appeal to a lot of very large crowd because they are widely listened to (no one cares that you think Linkin Park is "emo crap" before anyone says it).

The licensed songs have to be targeted better. I don't know many people that would honestly want to sit there and play covers of Funkytown.

Imagine Sandstorm in IIDX...that would be interesting--it has already appeared in a US DDR game so it isn't like the license is impossible to get.

The only problem is cost though. Linkin Park would probably cost quite a bit for the license but you never know.

I'd like to honestly see some more electronica licenced and see what they can do with that. Some Tiesto, BT, ATB, etc would be cool (to me at least) to see translated into a BM game.

Oh and of course the Goli Arts, NEED to be in the next game. No questions about that. 5key needs to be made harder (no other difficulty levels frown.gif ) and have some of the more challenging BMIII songs/charts I think.

Just some thoughts.

That's a lot better then I had in mind! I was trying to think of things that could be unlocked, I think the themes is a great idea.

Also, one thing that makes Beatmania...beatmania to me is the cover art and the DJ's... I think they should somehow start introducing them... or atleast Tran!

Exactly. I think that's what had me disappointed when I get the results screen. No DJs. I wouldn't mind if they introduced them slowly with each style. That would be nice.

As for some songs I would like to see.

Sakura
Ixion
Quasar
QQQ
Broadbanded from DistorteD
Setsugekka
Night of Fire
Murmur Twins
Moon Child
Gradius -Full Speed-
Burning Heat
Dissolve
Empathy
Blueberry Stream
Guidecca
Yesterday
Thunder
Traces

That's what I'd like to see in there atleast. If some of them could make it into the nest style. I would be happy.

Funkytown is a great way for new players to understand how the game works, mainly because it's a song both young and old know and it has a simple rhythm.

It was the song that allowed a bunch of people I showed it to realise how much fun the game is.

1) Funkytown is awesome regardless of it;s insane easiness
2) It's the original version in the game.

FINALLY, I've got Beatmania! The only things I think need to be changed:

-Have different difficulties like DDR, instead of just 1 difficulty in 5 & 7 key (& another, which I haven't gotten yet)

-PLAY PREVIEWS. It's hard to know what the song is unless you've heard it.

....Yeah, that's it. Besides the requested songlist.

Kinda hard to know that, since I don't have the anothers unlocked yet. erm.gif But if they do repeat it, then I guess that'd give them an excuse to use the HAPPY SKY normal chart.

Only 5 key has 1 difficulty. 7 key has beginner, Normal, Hyper, and eventually Another.
