I am having actually several issues with DWi.
My main issue is the fact that it can't play SM files! I have the entire DDR collection and i can only play half of it because most of the files are in SM format. I also have in the groove and that is in SM format.

Is there any SM to DWI converter or any method of playing SM files under DWI?

Also, another issue is why do some songs have trailing graphics everywhere if you don't have a background for the song?
I can't play Sakura because the Arrows trail and confuse the poopy out of me.

How can I fix the trailing issue?

And last but not least. Is it possible to put Stepmania into /sdl mode so that I can play it on my computer. I have a very VERY old graphic card (ATi 3DRage from 1997) that doesn't have Direct3D support.

Does stepmania have a SDl option and if so, How do I enable it?

Thank you for your help.

As far as I know, SDL in StepMania was thrown out during the SM3.9 development process. So you're out of luck there. And while there may be an SM->DWI converter, and it is possible to do hands and all kinds of stuff in DWI, the unfortunate thing is that there's no support for mines, so those would be lost in the conversion process. I hate to have to break this to you, but you should probably think about getting some hardware that's a little more recent. Maybe a Radeon 9200 or an nVidia equivalent at the least. Maybe even an all-new computer.

Don't buy a whole new computer for Stepmania. I have a new computer and I still use DWI. The only thing Stepmania is good for is creating your own simfiles.

I can convert those SM to DWI for you though the Stepmania editor. Send them to me (Just the .sm files, nothing else.) and I will send them back to you. The whole process will probably take me under 5 mins.

Just send me a PM if you are interested.

Well, I really just want the step charts for In The Groove and In The Groove 2. I have those but I can only play them in school which is very limited and boring. i rather play at home.

So, if you have those stepcharts, please convert them (yes, every song).
If not, PM me back and I will send you every stepchart.

I just sent a request to the stepmania team to include SDL mode which I hope they listen to. Even if I am a minority, maybe my voice will be heard.

Also, if anyone else has a solution please post now and let me know!
