The Red Octane 3.0 Pads that sucked were the pads that came in the Blue and Black Box.
The newer ones, the ones from the Red and Black box that advertised ITG on the back of it, works flawlessly.
I own the newer one and it still works flawlessly without error ever since I got it for X-Mas. _________________

I was expecting a PSMO double no bar AA video or something, let me down
Just kidding haha, that kid is pretty good. It looks like he could be better if only he was bigger, cause he's struggling with stretching across the pad. I can't wait till he gets taller and starts tearing up 10s His timing is pretty good for a 5-year-old, as well. |

Thanks guys,
So far, Ryota never scored AAA yet. I assume all step should be 'perfect' to get the grade?? It is too difficult!! |

Precisely. Must get all perfects, and "Ok's" if there are freeze arrows in said song.
What mix do you play on at home? I viewed the video months ago, but forgot what mix it looked like. |

I am not familiar with the Japanese version at all, so I can't tell you if it is bad or not. But I would recommend getting Max2 US version, great mix, lots of good songs, and the scoring system is a little bit less harsh than Extreme US's. Which should be the same as the japanese version.
Keep him playing, he will be better than me. But by the time he is a teenager, I will have long retired, I am older than 95% of the people on this forum. |

He doesn't have a American PS2. Japanese version has more ddr songs than the american anyways. PSX games I believe from 1-5mix and PS2 Max- Extreme. Along with DDR Party Collection, DDR Festival, and DDR Strike(Which is equivelant to extreme 2 of the American PS2) _________________

IMO, the Japanese version of Extreme is hands-down the best console version out there. It's much more like Extreme AC than Extreme US (I believe Festival is the Japanese equivalent of Extreme US). The scoring is the way it should be and there are 111 songs.
Oh, and I'm guessing he's using a Japanese PS2, which I believe means he won't be able to play American games at all - I've heard that although you can mod the US PS2 to play Japanese games, you can't mod the JP PS2 to play US games. I could be wrong though. _________________

Wow... You could...like...show him off at an arcade or something. Most kids that age are more preoccupied with the arrows lighting up than stepping on them on time. This is simply stunning!
tzwada wrote: | BTW, I'd like to know about Yasu. Assumably, he is an Aisian kid who plays DDR well. |
www.aaroninjapan.com <--look at the DDR videos there, and you'll see why we praise him. And Kevbo.

Wow! I am very impressed! How often does he play? He must practice a lot.
I showed some of his videos to the other girls in the DDR club at my college, and they were also quite amazed.
Do you ever worry about him being influenced by "offensive" song lyrics or background movies? I ask because a lot of my parents' friends are concerned about this (in regards to their younger children.)
Tell Ryota that he is very gifted, especially for his age! And thank you for posting these videos of him dancing. |

Thanks guys,
As dj wrote, my PS2 is Japanese version. I had tried to attach MOD chip to cancel the region check but I couldn't remove some parts inside console. It seems too risky and I abondoned.
Anyway, still Ryota has a lot of song to do in DDR Extreme. And he loves the game. I think it should be OK.
I show Yasu's video to Ryota. He is great!!
I do worry about offensive song and background. This is why I enable to display dancer in the screen. I think it is important to tell kids what is good and bad in every circumstances. Sometime I talk to Ryota about songs and backgrounds.
PS. ã¿ããªã® ãã¨ã°ã« ãããã㯠ãããã¥ãããã¦ãã¾ãããããã¨ãã
(Ryota is motivated by these articles. Thanks!!)
PS2. I uploaded his new video. It is not Heavy but Standard this time.
