I already have a working slide card setup on my old ps2.... So will this be a good alternative to play import/backup ps1 games on my ps2? |

Breaker Pro plays like, 50% of PS1 games.
You're better off buying and chipping a PS1. _________________

Has anyone encountered any issues with DDR/other bemani games on one of the new SCPH-75000 PS2s? My fliptopped PS2's laser is starting to choke on swapdisks, and my japanese PS1 has always been flakey, so I was thinking of biting the bullet and just shelling out for an import PS2. I did find an english version of the incompatibility list, but I don't know if it was complete, and while I'm trying to learn japanese, I couldn't puzzle out the official sony listing (in japanese). I don't think any of the DDR games were on there, but I figured I'd ask here, too. |

I'm looking at buying the Swap Magic thing for my PS2. I need one that'll work for the small PS2. Is there someplace cheaper than Console Source (like Ebay) that I can get this? & can I get just the Swap Magic disk if I have a small PS2? I'm also looking at the Magic Switch for the small PS2. Can I buy that & a Swap Magic disk seperetly? |

Check here, that's where I got my stuff. Personally, I would recommend the fliptop over the magic switch. I tried a magic switch at first and it was really crappy. Some people have gotten them to work, though. _________________

Now, I have a small PS2, so I have to get BOTH the flip top AND the Swap Magic Disk, or just the SMD? |

You need both.
And just so you know, the fliptop is kind of a pain to install. _________________

You're not saying that you only need the Swap Magic disc, are you? Because the disc alone won't do you any good - you still need a way to fool the PS2 into thinking the lid is closed so you can swap the disc with the game. That's where the magic switch or fliptop comes in. _________________

All you have to do is keep the button that says that the door is open pushed down all the time. The mod for the slim PS2's is really just a button that covers it and instructions on how to remove the plunger that pushes the button down _________________

Actually, there are three things that must be taken care of to be able to open the lid without the PS2 knowing. The first is the front sensor, which is easy. The second sensor is located inside the unit, toward the back, and is more difficult to deal with. The third thing is the disc brake, which must be held out of the way (normally, when you open the PS2's lid, the disc brake immediately catches the disc and prevents it from spinning). _________________
