There's no real secret or trick (argh, dumb pun for those who started on a pre-Max mix =P) to getting to Standard. The only thing you can do is practice. Find songs that are like, 3 or 4 feet on Light. I don't know which game you're playing, home or arcade, but on Extreme arcade for example, try D2R, Living in America, 1998, Irresisitiblement, Hyper Eurobeat, Love Shine, Señorita (Speedy Mix), etc. I guess if there's anything specific I'd recommend, it's that if you haven't already, try to get used to not moving your feet back to the center. I kinda found it disorienting at first, but it's essential to move your feet directly from arrow to arrow if you want to move up into higher difficulties.

1.) This should be in DDR Gameplay, but...

2.) Start easy. Don't go doing 10-footers immediately. Do light songs, then ease into Standard. When you get proficient at Standard, start doing easy Heavy songs. A Little Bit of Extacy (sp?) comes to mind. Work your way up the difficulty, and eventually you'll be up there with the best of them.

Interesting to note that I basically skipped the Standards.....nt a good idea, I basically have less-than-stellar stamina...
