Okay, a few things:

- I basically unlocked the game, all EXs, all but two old songs, go me.

-unlocks work as such (in case nobody informed the masses)

In Pop'n Request mode you just play the 9 songs listed and then they are unlocked in the game. They are all from previous mixes.

In minigame mode you play the two minigames, the Contemperary Nation minigame is a bitch, and the Skip one is fun (beat it first try.) They unlock their respective song.

If you have save data from DDR Str!ke you get Knock Out Regrets.

Don't waste your time in Challenge mode trying to get 108 points each round to unlock EXs manually (unless you just want a few specific songs to practice on.) This is because when you unlock the HELL12 course (one of the last unlocks,) you get ALL EXs for all songs. Every round you finish you play that silly ninja mini game - shooting those throwing stars at cards which give you unlocks. If you whore the game straight you can pretty much unlock everything in 6 hours or less. You know you're close to the end of getting everything when you start unlocking ee'mall songs (I think they're the last ones you get before hell 12)

Note: You can't unlock Jet World or Cassandra (from pop'n 8 w/o save data from GF&DM V, which is funny because its not released yet.)

Oh yeah, I'm really excited because I'm slowly tearing down the wall I was stuck at with lvl 40 songs

I can almost guarantee Forest Snow EX will be changed to a 39 sometime in the near future. It's easy.

Nice job with Joukyou Rap though. That's a decently tough one, and the song is AMAZING. Good job with Zen Jazz too, as I think that's a pretty tough 40.

As for me, I sight read cleared Athletic Meet EX, despite thinking "wow that looks hard" when watching it on autoplay. Haven't really tried any of the other new 41s/42s as my hands are all cut up/destroyed from hitting edges of buttons, and playing right now burns my hands to hell, so I must unfortunately take a break for a day or two.

But that one 42 thats like 356 bpm is going down.

What the hell. How long does it take for a JPS2 and a game to get here from liksang? This is my first pop'n and I want it to be SPECIAL.

(I ordered it last sunday in Feb, but they said they shipped it the thursday after that. Anyone know an ETA?)

Yay it came in the mail today. It's really awesome, but I have a few questions for pop'n 10.

What's the point of challenge mode?
How do you get hi-speed?
How do you get Hyper and EX's
Is there really that big of a difference between a Ransai and a DA controller. I was thinking about going with the DA since it's lower in price, but if it's not as good a ransai, I'll save up some more.

Ooooooo, thanks for the awesome information. I'll totally get one from DA because that 50 bucks really makes a diff for me. And it turns out I have to hit select before the song starts.

Yea, hitting select if you're using a controller.

Hitting both yellows is if you have a pop'n controller.

Hory clap! I came back from my weekend in San Francisco and it's like I got good at Pop'n overnight.

I loaded in some of my older mixes, seeing that i haven't touched them since I got 11.

- Passed Elegy EX, Pop'n Taisou and border-failed Contemporary Nation on pop'n 10 first try. (I used to think these were impossible)

- Passed my first two 41s, House EX (thanks towel) on pop'n 8 and frickn Don't Cry Jesus (aka slash beats) on pop'n 9. Also, I have consistently been border failing Symphonic Metal and Athletic Meet, soon I'll tackle those too.

Also, you don't need 101. I got the extra stage by getting 94 and 98 challenge points.

And a few mentions of the mod system

In CS Best hits - 10, hitting the button color would ascend the list (like for Hi Speed in 8 - 2x, 3x, 4x, back to 1x.)

In 11, left button of the pair acsends, right button decends (using the right blue for Highspeed goes 6x, 5x, 4x, 3x, 2x, back to 1x).

In 12, the left button DECENDS. right button ACSENDS. (Right white goes Random, Mirror, S-Random, back to no chart mod; instead of S-ran, Mir, Ran, NCM).

I am having fun w/ Iroha. I do question the reason why they had to repeat Beyond the Earth (but we can CHOOSE to unlock it this time around). We don't need a popn V. I can stand all of the CS songs except for the Dentist Mouse Song.

Does Pop'n Music have the same "gauge % requirement" like IIDX (@ 80% mini) and KBM (70% mini), respectively?

yea, 70%. its where the gauge changes colors and/or sizes. in fact, its the only thing that determines pass/fail.

i guess. not sure what you mean... popn has no letter grades (obviously) but other games only use the life bar for passing or failing too. itg, iidx, etc.
